My yellow hibiscus - shame the stigmas are so close and I can photograph them separately.

Wish I lived in Canada, minus the cold. Very beautiful close ups this time. And Mr Downy poses for your camera. That nuthatch is so young .. a cute chick..

I tried to entice my birds to come closer, and put some sunflower seeds near the lean-to. But no, they are snobs. The tits have competition from the sparrows for the fat balls in the squirrel-proof cage. I managed to take a pic of a great tit, but it was so blurred that I was too embarrassed to post it here!

Evening all. sounds like you will be in your element then @Verdun , have fun :)

Hi there @alp ,how are things with you ?

Glad your OK @Logan , you sound busy !

Keep trying to get back out in the garden, but sis is still quite unwell despite her 7 days in hospital last week. We booked a phone app with my Dr's surgery this morning and she has been put on additional meds , will see how thing go. She hasn't be able to keep any food or drink down for about a fortnight now, not that she was eating that much anyway....has lost a stone in 3wks!! I've been googling to see what things she could eat, albeit very tiny wee portions, she is a veggie with no appetite!!!....suggested we try one option that I found which is to eat 6 - 8 very small snacky type meals...houmous and veg sticks, fruit such as bananas, tinned peaches/ apricots ( not sure why tinned..maybe softer to digest than fresh) , white grape juice, cereal bars , yoghurt, thin soups etc. Went out this afternoon and stocked up :)(y)......so fingers crossed .

I have quite a few plants now waiting to be put in their final homes, sowed them back in late spring/ early summer all have done so well ( apart from most of my poor deceased wallflowers:cry: ) , also have loads of bulbs to bury too:). Mind you still have a lot of blooms in the garden , although I did note today that some of the Cosmos passed their best now, so will pull them out tomorrow, all being well;):cautious:.

Must go...Dr Foster's on:D.

@Upsy Daisy

Didn't know Dr Foster was on!

Son and I and ex went to Hyde Hall today and it was most enjoyable.

Shame your sis is not getting better. How about porridge with a bit of honey? Something filling and slow release.. With so much going on, it's inevitable that you will have casualties.. I'm not buying any bulbs as i hope I won't be there next year. The trouble is house prices are astronomical and so many houses chasing very few buyers. Some people literally do up their houses as if they looked new.. I don't think mine stand a chance.

I think Dr Foster will be open ended, to make way for the possibility of another series.

Yep open ended @alp!!(y) Thanks yes she did start off having porridge but it became too heavy for her stomach to handle, went on to lighter cornflakes/ special K... then even they became too much too :(

@Logan thanks too, but she can't handle much liquid and to make it count you need to have a cupful. She has been prescribed Fortisips with are little bottles ( the size of the probiotic (sp?) drinks) which help to support her essential nutritional requirements and are high energy providers too, yet are easy to digest without her pancreas having to do much work :)

Good morning, @Logan Have you sorted out your curtains?

Some flowers snapped in RHS Hyde Hall yesterday. Not enough bandwidth. Trying Edge browser now.

This uploading session has been a disasterrrrrrr!

I think this could be a new Zinnia

numerous attempts to upload these. Just love the snaps.. My camera has been playing up a bit. But hey, for £99, it's not bad!
Oh, the asters themselves have no blur, it's my photography .. I can keep still. Must learn to hold my breath..

Morning folks:)
Nice pictures:)
Been to the beach ......a feeling and smell of autumn suddenly rather than summer but still felt warm. Almost silent surf today and the light across the water was magical. The (few) people you meet at this time of day always have more energy and bounce than those of later risers. About time to consider another dog I think (y)
Be good folks. Be happy :)
