@MaryMary Morning. it's before they flower you give them the Chelsea chop.

Oh, I understood that! :) Pinching them back to make them sturdier. "Chelsea chop" was new to me, the term, not the action. I am still a little unsure which perennials I can do that to...

I should have been a little more clear - I just really like my re-blooming phlox! (y) :ROFLMAO: "Extreme deadheading," more or less. ;)

@MaryMary

How come I can make my irises rebloom even if I deadhead them? :eek::p

Phlox do put up a good show. I should have bought it. They are worth having. Next year, I will buy it if it is £1 in the pound shop. I've got tons of goodies from poundshop.

Good afternoon all. Been busy doing Xmas puddings. Done 5 1lb puds.
Put the mixture in the basins and had to weigh it.

Put 2 in the pressure cooker, steamed them for 15mins. Then brought the pressure up and cooked them for 1hour and 3/4.
Took the covering off

I never make anything like that. Yesterday, I made a delicious pork joint with potatoes. That was a record for me. Today, we went to Wetherspoon (for me, first time in 10 years at least) because of the VAT reduction (my son kept reminding me of that - it gave me earache!) However, I must say VAT is a bit steep in this country. It was OK. I prefer the fish batter up the road and Nando chicken ..

I can understand why, @Verdun It was very warm inside and there were loads of people there. Ex encouraged us to eat out on Friday because of the meal deal. We wouldn't have gone there, but son forgot to shut the lid to the breadmaker and the whole loaf was soggy, so porridge oats for breakfast and Spoons for lunch. Shame they used Tetley tea .. not my favorite. Wish I had coffee, but I always find coffee bitter. It's only good for the aroma. Well, a bit of a change. Son was very excited about the discount. Apparently, he knows the spoons well ... ummm.. wonder who supported his visits.. Certainly not me!

@alp porridge is alright for breakfast with loads of fruit on top. Never been to wetherspoons. Used to have fish and chips from the local shop. Sometimes the chips could be a bit stale. Always have oven chips now. On a Friday have chips, eggs and beans.
