Repotted my Birds of paradise and will put them indoors so that they will flower next summer. Haven't been treating them too well and managed to kill one and now I have only 2 left.

I will definitely go for rock roses and will read @Verdun 's suggestions again and google about the plants. I'm out of my depth here as I don't know most of the plants named.

Crikey, you're early, @Logan Went to bed early 10 as I couldn't concentrate on the Spain documentary .. Just got up and started the washing machine. The air is so cold.

@alp I'm always early. Yes it's colder, hubby put his jumper on this morning.

10th September and I'm thinking of turning on my heater already!

We've had the gas fire on in the mornings this week. Got to get it serviced, it's a new one we've had it for a year. These new fires has a sensor in the pilot light, to tell if there is enough oxygen in the air. It won't light if there isn't, have to have it serviced every year and buy another pilot thing, to replace it. Costs about £23.00. Don't know how much the service will be.

I remember my 2nd year's service. The man came when my ex was here. I asked him if he's going to service all the radiators of the other rooms. He said there was no needs as the readings were good, and then said he would take £50 instead of £65. Do you have to buy this new thing every year? You could google gas safe register engineer in your area and email or phone them and emphasise the fact that it is only ONE YEAR old - like since it is only one year old, can you make it cheaper ..

Thanks, i will do that. We're getting it done by the plumbing company that put it in, saying that it won't be covered by them if we don't have them. Oh i forgot to say we've got to have the boiler done aswell. That's a year old.

No, their a good company, theyre a family business. They put in our bathroom and downstairs toilet. But i will get quotes. Thanks.

@alp forgot to say, hubby said it will cost about £80 for both to be done. The boiler has a magnet in it to atrack dirt out of the water.

As long as you're happy, I am happy. I'm not keen on exclusive contract. But as I say, as long as you're happy, it's fine!
