Flipin Heck kinda know how Houston Tx feels right now (well not exactly poor souls) but you know what I mean,,,We get rain its true but not dumped upon like that...Luckily I just finished the garden mowing and edging and then Woosh!....so dull in the bedroom I cant even contemplate giving these walls another coat..too dark.
Anyway at least the grass had had a wee trim.

Guppies are more vegetarians than some so you should include some Vegetable or Spirulina flake into their diet...also as a weekly treat you could include frozen bloodworm...I wish I could get live blackworm over here but they wont import it but you can get it quite readily....
I keep and breed a section of tropical fish know as Killifish I'm sure your familiar with this.

Oh no! Dearie, dearie, dearie me. Another sunny hot day. Sooooo boring. Ok, sun feels so good, it is dry, no wind, blue skies and the sea is calm and blue but I cant decide whether to top up my tan, have a swim or think about work. Decisions, decisions, decisions:(

Not always and in any case fish do better with Livefoods so for this the garden also serves a purpose :) Even the runoff from the greenhouse is channeled into water butts with horse manure for Midge Larvae ....
Oh I also breed Drosphillia (Fruit Flies) a vestigal wingless variant, culture algae indoors and hatch Brineshrimps, mexican shrimp and Fairy shrimp...dont let me bore you anymore

No, you're not boring me. I just feel very out of depth. Haha! I thought midge is some kind of menace?!

Oh, can we feast our eyes on your Brineshrimps, Mexican shrimp and fairy shrimp please. Your life is ssssoooo interesting, apart from insomnia that is! ;)

Hahaha! Duck has the most wonderful flavour. Last week I paid £2.60 for two duck breasts REDUCED. When we ate them, we were both in tears.. Not nice and too tough for my precious BABY!

@MaryMary You're not serious, putting mosquito larvaes into your fish tank??! You're asking for trouble.. Guppies are the toughest of fish and I used to keep them too. They interbreed like rabbits.

@BigC The neon blue in that fish is out of this world. They don't kill, I am sure?!

This morning, we went to collect some woodchips from a place with the same initial post code. The man told me that he paid £15 for a whole big pile of woodchips and that tree surgeons usually had to get rid of them and charged very little for delivery of the stuff. I never knew. I paid £22 for 4 bags of bark mulch .. Never again. We ended up with about 15 containers of the stuff and they would all be used to give a woodlandy feel to the soil. Not exactly, but the addition will certainly make the soil less compact and more free draining. If I had known this, I would have spent all that money buying up bark mulch which was a con as it was full of water. Then another lady emailed me that she had some BLACK rich soil in bags which I might like. I think I have heard about this black rich soil before!! Hahaha!

 :ROFLMAO: My gups are rather spoiled, BigC! They get cucumber, zucchini, and butternut squash, all peeled and boiled soft. Since the mosquito fiasco, I'll smash a raw popcorn shrimp, or give them a small slice of hard boiled egg for their extra protein. I've heard they like banana, too, but haven't tried it.

The guppies have two small plecostomus in with them. The other tank has one large pleco, with mollies and platies.

Yes, yes, I did. Only 5 made it to adulthood. I know this because I am the preferred flavor, and when they came after me, I killed them. :D

You're asking for trouble..

Everybody needs a hobby, alp! :sneaky:

@MaryMary Hahaha! Would love to see your guppies and I wonder if they are healthier than those fed on flakes.

I haven't kept any fish for nearly 15 years. Used to have a 3' 6" long tank. Still got one and will use it to house my streptos..

Just sited the wormery outside to somewhere shaded but warmish. Opened two bags of coffee grind and saw worms in them. Very surprised as the bags had been more or less sealed. Now I have to wait for a few months to get the juice.. Grimey business!
