@BigC I read about wormery before. Now I realise that the wormery has to be used inside the house -- shock horror. I think I will move it to the lean-to or workshop. I was told it wouldn't smell. But the thought of it all is a bit too much. I need to do some research as to what to buy and how to use it. When are you going off for two days?

@alp Probably because of the frost,it will get too cold.Could you put it in the garage? I think you give them the things that's put in a compost bin.

Definitely not inside my kitchen or house. Lean to or garage. Garage is a bit troublesome as I need to use key to open the door. Now I need to find worms. My ex's sister said that they are different kind of worms. I hate the word BUY! LOL!

Whoa, @Logan you got up early. It's pretty cold here. The ground is wet, but it's not raining now. Hope I can have a cooler day for tidying up.

@alp I'm always up early:) It's supposed to be raining here, but nothing.
Got my good sized tulip bulbs from the local garden centre, 16 for £6.99, crocus 40 for £7.96.:)

@Logan can we have a photo of your tulips please? I have seen people buying up £2 worth of a pack of tulips, but they look very common. I bought 2 packs of 12 daff (scented and dwarf) for 99p each in Home Bargains.

Re: worms, I will see if I can get the fattest worm when I turn my soil. Just harvested 2 kg of potatoes and will use that area for more hellebores. As usual, I have spent money on rhizomes, but haven't been looking after them well.

Nice choice, @Logan Black goes very well with yellow as well. You could consider Knight of the night or dark queen - lovely black colour which sets off yellow in a very mystic way.

Researching on how to use a wormery

1) siting the wormery:

Our experience of siting a wormery inside, in the utility room, was short lived because many of the worms escaped and the floor was littered with ...

Ooooops!

Thought they were same as in compost bin
this was my assumption too but apparently they produce better if kept warm...I culture many worms and nematodes for the fish but this would be a good addition but dont want to keep anything as large as this indoors with rotting household waste its bound to smell after a while if the municipal/council bins are anything to go by
