Beautiful GH, the patio is so pretty, and the sunflowers.
I love the purple flowers, it's all so natural, blending in with each other.

The purple on the left is Sage - Salvia clevelandii a local native and the purple on the right are Cosmos. It is a mostly seasonal flower garden that I started a few years ago and each year I have to add less and less as I get more and more volunteers. The sage is a evergreen in a little rock border and abuts the flower garden. I think there are over a dozen types of plants in the flower bed.

@Greenhorn Lovely garden photos. The sunflowers really add a striking architectural dimension to the photo. What a lovely garden.. No wonder you are chuffed and philosophical, dare I say! ;)

I hope you enter the sunflower competition. @Jan I really like your avatar .. you can showcase your wildlife here as well.

@tbendl I was shouting out your name. I knew you went to a conference which seemed to be a very long one, but we had all missed you.. So nice for you to be back home and here on the forum. Would love to see your roses..

No, he watered all my new plants, didn't kill any of them or my creatures and mowed the yard so he is completely forgiven. ;) He's a keeper.

@Logan You've got some cracking alstroemerias.. I love yours.. Mine has come up, but I think I have killed 3 of them Burgundy, Mona lisa and one more.. Can't remember the name. I'm scandalous.

Can't wait for your lovely roses to come up altogether.. I remember them - they were so showy .. Lovely lavender. Reminds me that I have 3 different types, one ballerina, one white French one and one typical English. Well chuffed to have the ballerina like ones.

@alp Thanks, i did have some other colours of the alsroemerias, but they didn't come up again. That one seems to be more hardy. Here the French lavender don't last long.

@alp over the years, the roses have been a bit neglected, but they still flowered well. The last couple of years I've been putting a lot of compost around them. I always gave them rose food, but that was all. It was just grass when we moved in, started off with the roses, first on the corner. There was rose of Sharon, it was very hard to dig up.Then we planted them down the side, then along by the lamp post. I planted 10 roses there all in one go.
