Would like to add this bit before I go:

Wedding at Telford with fast and expensive cars and smoke canons which went on for 4 days

FOUR DAYS OF HELL for the neighbours...

***************************************************

Zenj: Is that Astrantia? Gosh! So many flowers and the others are so perfect .. Can't believe my eyes.

Perki: Glad that you're much better and hope you recover the sense of taste and smell soon. Those orange roses are so nice. I wish I had sown my burnet seeds. Still in a big packet about 5000 seeds. The other one from Beeches died. As for football: we all want them to win. But Denmark also has a case to prove - their collapsed colleague.

Princess Catherine - the others are ravaged by slugs and bugs, quite unlike those of you three gentlemen, including @DrCase !

alp dierama have tried 3 times here but lost them so gave up.:(

I know. I was so surprised to see it flower. I bought it REDUCED! And plonked it in the allotment grids where I put all my beloved flowers - agapanthus, twisters, penstemon .. and suddenly, this year, I saw these geometric patterns of buds dangling right in front of me. It's a bonus!

I am hot already - 5 rounds of watering and now at the back shedding leaves to pieces to make compost and realised that I dislike it there - there are tiny black bugs which bite me and all sorts of tiny creatures making me itchy. The humidity is awfully stifling. This woman does MOAN! LOL!

I like the way you call it DIErama! Makes chuckle ...er humm, giggle!

Moaning soldier going out to brave the bites!

If there were thunder and lightning, I was too tired to hear it. The butts are nearly full, with tons of buckets around filled with water.

Drug addiction of fish caused by human activities

Fish are getting addicted to CRYSTAL METH: Brown trout exposed to illegal drugs flushed into rivers and streams by humans for just two months show signs of addiction, study warns

Man, 65, suffers horror toilet trip after 5ft python emerges to 'pinch' his genitals

Terrifying that neighbours can keep such horrible reptiles and didn't know that it had escaped.

Kew was very good. I had to quicken the speed of play or I would fall asleep. Cruishank always is too soothing for me, a recipe for deep sleep.

T budded 3 roses and the newly bought graft knife was a bit of rubbish. Not sharp enough. In the end, I used my tiny secateur and I hope I had not severed the cambrian layer.

Witnessed a serious squally shower! Very windy and heavy rain at the same time. This year has been punctuated with sporadic rains, which is not exactly bad to me.

Also, repotted my Salvia Domeyi - giant salvia cuttings. 3 strikes out of 6 out of a weakling seedlings. Went out to check my parent seedling which I bought and found that the slugs had ravaged most of the leaves. Add a bit of deterrent.

Took cuttings of my rose Rhapsody of Love

Good morning to all:

Great news for England football. We didn't watch it, but the beginning was a bit of a downer! It seemed to be a never ending game. Whilst I was in bed, son told me Harry Kane knocked the ball in 104th minute and I had been so tired that I just wanted to sleep.

Why was it that I never learned anything. July is not a time to get woodchips. Because of the rains, I was worried that the garden would be flooded yet again. So I contacted someone on Gumtree and he came with a load of green. His excuse was: Customers just don't understand: It's summer and leaves grow. You see those trees over there? They are covered with leaves.

I must engrave this into my thick skull. He said: Anyway, you've got a free load of stuff which smells nice ... I laboured 4 hours straight: to move the water bins, buckets, pots and then the bikes and various pots and lugged from 4.00 to 8pm. I was totally exhausted. Why are tradespeople so dishonest. They show you a picture of woodchips and no leaves. What I had was leaves and very little woodchips.

The only consolation was that it did smell heavenly - a lorry load of Eucalyptus tree leaves and I hope I did lose some weight.

Anybody knows what helenium this is please?

I have Early Sahin, Mardi Gras, Warburzerg, Moerheim Beauty. Inula helenium. Only 3 of them I am certain of their names.

Very dainty and frothy and aptly named Baby breath.

I remember posting here long time ago about Stipa Gigantea seeds. I collected them whenever I could and yet some just wouldn't germinate. Apparently, the person answering my question seemed to be correct: that the hotel probably didn't want to have stipa self-seeding everywhere and hence they chose one with sterile seeds. Now that I have sourced and successfully germinated some, I really must learn this lesson.

Off to watch Beechgrove now; but Hampton Court first! @LouisFerdinand I think you'd love it.

I just don't get the fuss about Tom Stuart-Smith. His gardening is the same as Monty and yet he gets all the praise whilst Monty get the rage! I think they are the same spontaneity. A lot of snobs in our horticultural world. I have to say his teacher was a bit brutal calling him conceited and lazy! Don't think this kind of remarks is allowed in our touchy world these days. I miss Monty and he's probably going to make some real money - his own shows. Riley is so out of her depth in a HORTICULTURAL SHOW. Life deals her a fair hand. Being fair gets you jobs!

Yep that's a veronicastrum, they do get stunted with lack of moister but it will fill out next year. Mine are about 5 ft at the moment.

Off to Newcastle for the weekend now, at least the weather looks OK for the weekend.

Thank you for the lovely plant. They were in the green house. By the look of it, I should plant it somewhere else.

Have a good time and don't get too drunk and stay away from bugs! Have fun!

Off to label some plants before they all look the same and me scratching me head!

I thought England had won the football - a whole night of party and I heard people talking as if they were inside my back garden. Turned out to be a family nearby having a party, even playing football outside, in the street. This family moved in about 4 or 5 years ago. One son kept playing Drill music and you could hear the throbbing although it was 4th houses away. Then some nasties poured bleach all over their carpet. One man held the door as if talking to someone inside whilst the insider poured bleach. Neighbours are not always a welcome addition.

It's so cold this morning that I really didn't want to get up.

Annabelle hydrangea needs a bit of support - I have 2 problems (at least two,) plants in the front garden collapse towards the west, whilst plants at facing east at the back collapse towards the east whilst my neighbour's weeds all go through a weed fence and invade my garden)
