Ah...that's a shame!:(

The cheek of it! @Upsy Daisy - You have to let go. Or you will be always be on tenterhooks. The lovely house owner has refused viewing unless you come with cash! Can't blame them. Apparently, they had had an offer over he asking price! Surprised they asked for such a low price!

I'm experimenting with my bulbs this year, seeing that I always get them muddled or slice them to pieces when digging/ weeding. Some have been planted in pots then sunk in the ground and some have been planted either singularly or in twos in an upturned plastic bottle that has seen sunk in the border too.
My thinking is that they can all be lifted in their containers when they have bloomed and can be left to die back and their vacated spaces can be filled summer bedding....that's the plan!:)(y)

What a wacky and desperate idea!:LOL:

Hope the soil is rich enough to sustain the whole process. I have used pots to grow my alliums and they didn't fare well. I think if the soil is rich enough and water are correct in amount, it may be a good idea. Are you sure the bulbs are not going to rot? Hope you punch some holes near the end just in case the bottom hole is blocked.

Woke up really early. Son was saying I had fallen asleep for far too long watching TV. Woken up feeling very hot and thought it was 5.30. It turned out to be 3.30am.

Took some pics yesterday. Most of my dahlias have been roasted.

Wonder if @Zenj or @Perki can name this beauty please!

Morning!:D

Should work fine @alp, last year I planted some in sunken flowerpots....so easy to just lift them out when they went over. But using these narrower bottles will allow me to plant more in smaller groups too ,in between other plants!

Were you asking for the name of your first pic? I have then as well they are Peacock Orchids ( don't ask me for the latin name ):ROFLMAO:

Good morning, again! Thank you for the name, @Upsy Daisy . They are doing very well now. Amazing. Those are the flowers not touched by the frost. Even the petunia is happy, but I so want to have seeds and so far I haven't seen any seed pods. Today is a day no gardening as it's raining and predicted to be wet for a long time.

Cannas are a nightmare. I had to cut several pots to get the bulky roots come out. Now I have lovely pots and I am dreading more wastage next year. They don't have flowers like those of @Zenj 's, but small red ones. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! Next frost comes, I will retire all my begonias.

I have one Petunia still growing strong, even the leaves look fresh and new too, just goes to show how important location is (y)

The Peacock bulbs aren't hardy, so keep a close eye on them .
My Dad has loads of Begonias but all have now succumbed to the frost. :(

Back on to Petunias....I have attempted to take cuttings of one of my favourite ones.....took them about 5 weeks ago and placed them in the cold frame, so far so good(y)

Petunia cuttings are viable, but make sure right at the end, they don't succumb to mildew. That's what happened to my pirouette. I had that until April and it was covered with dust and perished. :banghead::inpain: So close and yet so far!

This year, I didn't even sow any pirouette seeds. I prefer single ones for the bees and you can collect seeds up to a few years. I did buy quite a few pirouette seeds for 50 each though. Couldn't resist it and that's why Wyevale is not closing yet.

I had layered quite a few Trachelospermum Jasminoides and now have 3 new plants. I layered the beauty in its' own pot and hopefully there will be more.

Upsy: good link, and I will do that with my petunia and we can compare notes next year!

We have brightened up a bit and we are supposed to have 80% of rain! Joker!:banghead:. I had the longest chat with my elderly neighbour the day before yesterday. He actually came out with his daughter, probably to find out my selling house situation. Something exciting for you to have a look

1st, 2nd and 3rd Look at the measurements for me please and have a bit of fun on such a gardening-averse day!
