Good morning to hopefully a dry day!

Wonder how much this would help to boost hedgehog number

Roadhogs... watch out for hedgehogs crossing! Signs warning drivers to be aware of wildlife will appear across UK in a bid to boost declining numbers
  • In the 1950s, there were an estimated 30 million hedgehogs in Britain
  • Today there are about one million hedgehogs in Britain with motorists to blame
  • The Government are set to erect warning signs where small wildlife is present

Good morning to you on this lovely Easter Sunday!!

Its Chocolate time!!!!! :):).......must pace myself!!(y)

What a very good idea @alp, after all we do have deer, horses , frogs and a few other wildlife awareness signs already.....about time hedgehogs had one too. It's scary to read how low their decline has reached:eek::eek:

Even out here in the country, surrounded by fields we haven't spotted one in years.......not even a squashed one:cry:

Have a Chocolate Chomping Easter Sunday....but procede with caution !!!

They're not all to blame, but I won't go into that and get on my high horse.

Yes, there are a lot of factors, apart from the often-blamed motorists. More an awareness campaign than anything else.

I saw a family buying up 9 boxes at £1 each in Asda and the man said it was just for the kids!:eek::eek:

I don't much like chocolate, apart from Ferrero Rochers!

Got several Pork joints at £2.49/kg in Lidl and Aldi. Roasted them and the whole kitchen was filled with smoke. Yummy and I won't buy any bacon in a hurry. Roast my own and even make Honey roasted ham. Just pour maple syrup. Son seconds another trip to these places until the freezer is full. Pretty much full now.

I can see the child in you. Your grandchildren probably have undue influence on you! What a nice way to start the day, @ Zenji !

Thank you and Happy Easter to all!

Done a few jobs this evening before it went dark.

Weeded some of the borders again, must mean the soil warming up with weeds germinating, a lot more plants are showing now.
Kniphofia Timothy has been attacked by slugs, so dug it up and potted it up. I was moving anyway so i let it recover first.
Dug up and removed all the old strawberry plants.
Give the veg bed a good mulch of home made compost. potatoes to be planted next week.
Feed and dressed with Ericaceous compost blue berry so did the skimmia - camellia while I was at it.
Moved the Ligularia Little rocket a little bit, it was to close to the Actaea.

Think I will have to go round some of the plants with the slug wool pellets next week.
Snow forecast tomorrow morning, good news its going to change to rain at dinner time hopefully.
Might venture out tomorrow and snap up all the cheap easter eggs :hungry: :D

Easter chocolate eggs are really cheap. £1 and it's not going to break the bank. You surely can eat to your heart's content.

Thank you for the hints on jobs to do, @Perki . But we are raining the whole day, AGAIN! Damp and rainy and my lawn is wet and soggy again.

B&Q is still 20% off plants today. I got a hellebore anemone, again!.

Morning all , grey day here I do think its trying to brighten up a bit.........or maybe its just wishful thinking playing tricks on my eyes!!!!

Managed to do a lot of border maintenance yesterday, as @Perki said.....weeds are waking up!!!! Adding garden compost as I worked my way around the beds.

Have a good day!:)
