Just come back from shopping. Got more potatoes, carrots and parsnips. More crackling pork joints and shops are so busy.

Now I really know how Colin and @Zenji feel. It's raining, raining, raining and raining. We had to sort out the water and our clothes are wet through. Saw salix Kilmarnocks reduced to £5.99 but they didn't look nice.

Morrisons are selling magnolia for £5 with pink flowers. Lidl had the white ones but the quality looked dodgy.

That was a good shop. No i wouldn't buy magnolias, they grow so big. It's raining here on and off. Dug up a lavender plant that's gone woody and old. Put a small blackcurrant plant in its place.

We went to Aldi which was very busy too got swede parsnips leeks etc all 19 p and very fresh.

Yes, I must find out when they are going to reduce their meats.. Not to be missed. I have one 10 minutes' walk down the road. Mind you, last time I had meat from Lidl, the chicken thighs stenk the fridge 3 days before the sell buy day, and yet they looked so fresh and clean!

@Zenji Do you buy your meats there please? I might give it a chance as I like to keep an open mind. - I mean Aldi. Lidl scared me a bit.

Thank you, Zenji. I also bought some pork joints as they are £2.49 per kg. It was Lidl that let me down. I will give it a go as I can walk down there. Pulled pork is full of sugar.. Watch your blood level.

Went to Morrisons to get £19 salmon. They wised up and had up all chopped up. Very handy. I might buy another one. Busy everywhere. Bought some peonies in Morrisons. So much cheaper in Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl..

That was Lidl, not Aldi, so it might be different. Yes, it has just stopped raining. Just pure hell. Water everywhere. The patio made by my son and me is now part flooded:shame::shame:.

Glad that you have had a lovely day!

No I mean Lidl, we always get our meat there and haven't had a problem. Believe me if I had detected even a slight dodgy whiff on any meat I would've returned it pronto and complained!!

Did you complain?

I remember years ago, after we had just married ,we bought some meat from a well known shop (that has since changed its name) and on a closer look we decided we couldn't recognise the joint and thought the meat looked suspiciously hairy:eek::eek: ....so returned it quickly. Afterwards we wondered if we should have in fact taken it to the police......it looked that suspicious !!!!!!!.....really(y)

We have to drive to go there, so no.

Hopefully, it's going to be drier tomorrow. My garden is a pond again! Bought some peony lactifolias Red and white and promptly chopped the tubers to 2 to 3 bits. £5 for 3 packets. Nice to go round to see what I can get for my money.

Torrential rain all day long, only just easing. More to come in the next week, the Thames is very, vey full. Hope there is no localised flooding..

We all have to be careful where we get our meat from. There's a small GC who had a butcher selling meat and meat products there. He was putting British labels on the meat & products when it wasn't British.
