I never feed my roses with anything. I might have to have a look. I have tomorite. Can't afford to buy specialist fertilisers!
You only have to do them twice a year, one in march or after pruning them, the next in June.
Tomorite won't be any good, it has more potassium in. It won't have many trace elements.

Hi , rain / hailstone this morning and a bit of sunshine this afternoon, been round to my mums and potted up her dahlia. I could do to pot on some of my seedling @Logan hint hint ;).

I use top rose to feed the roses, I don't think its restricted to just roses I been considering for a while about using it for dahlias, I'll experiment this year with it.

A quick update, and then I probably ought to try to sleep. :( (I feel like a little kid trying to escape bedtime!) I went to one job at 8 am, got off at 12 pm, went to the other job at 12:30, and left there at 9:30. I have to do it again all tomorrow and Friday. (I hate waking up early!)

The new job is...ok. (Just ok.) It's one of the most boring jobs I've ever had. I've gotten so accustomed to never having enough time to get enough done that this job bores me to tears! I'm not allowed too far away from my register, and once you've straightened everything, there is nothing to do. The other day I spent 45 minutes holding down the counter. o_O

At my first job, we lost an employee, so my hours have gone up there. Not by much, or they'd have to pay me overtime, but when you're working two jobs, 3-5 hours makes a difference! I've been so busy, I haven't started my seeds yet. :( Maybe Saturday or Sunday; I'm only working one job those days.

In the last 6 weeks, the check engine light has come on one time! (y) (y) I'm starting to convince myself that maybe the gas station had some bad gas or something - maybe had some water in it or something...

I'm yawning! I'd better try to sleep now, or else I'll catch my second wind and be up for hours!

alp, Epsom salts are good for roses. (y) You'll want to read up on the ratio of salt to water - but at least it gives you a good reason to soak your feet every now and then! (Waste not, want not, you know.)

Hint hint from @Perki. Went to a brand new Lidl yesterday and saw tons of dahlias. One could be Caribbean Fantasy or Edge of Joy. i.e white with red edges. A packet of 8 but NO prices, no price on the magnolias either. I am so tempted to buy a potted magnolias, but they looked like dead twigs. Had a look at the cucumbers and they were soft and no good. Got some spuds and carrots for 19p each. I will take a pic of all my fertlisers. I hate the word buy, if you believe me!

LOL! You're so informative. Might go round to have a look. I was gutted not to go the a diy store. The checkout lady loves me and often does me a good price. But we went out every day and the brake and brake pad need to be replaced, another £200 down the drain.

I hope your new job will pick up. To have nothing to do is plain boring. Are you allowed to read magazines or newspapers? If they employ you, they must need you as a new pair of hands.

My seeds this year will be a disaster as they are now in the hottest spot in my garden. I've got nowhere to put them. Every where in my garden is too hot and that's why I can't grow meconopsis because of the lack of moisture in the air and there were very hungry critters.

I need tough cookies like camassias which have now come into buds. So excited. I liked them straight away when the breeder said, "Camassias can take anything being thrown at them, rain, snow, sleet, sunshine .. !" That's the kind of people and plants that I like!

LOL! I have seen Diana Riggs, John Simpson, that newreader ?? Stewart (lovely coloured lady) Lady Helen Windsor and her husband. Shame I haven't seen Diana as she did came to shop and queue up. This girl had a book of signatures in the tills and got quite a few important signatures.

Alison Moyet came to shop in another place, but at that time, I didn't know who she was!

Got up and thought it was 5: 20! A cup of tea and I am happy. At least it's not raining. Need to find out where my fertilisers are. What plants need what please? Hope someone gives me some tips, apart from rose food for rose?!

Glad that your car is fairly OK, @MaryMary!

Morning, sun is trying to put in an appearance!:)

Gosh! , you've bumped into a lot of famous people @alp!
I've seen loads of ' pop groups' ,as they used to be called, in my younger days......but not face to face. Never watched Coronation St, but literally bumped into Ken Roach, he was in town doing a book signing and was coming into a shop, I was going out the door,he held it open for me!:)
Saw a local newsreader in Waitrose too.

They were hardly famous, not in my mind any way. He held the door for you. Did you recognise him at that point?

Yes, sun is out and everything is good. I shudder to go out as the highest temperature is 9c! And it will rain again later. Wish I had done some laundry.

April and still no good weather. Shouldn't moan as @johnny canoe manages very well!
