Mark, are those Tom Thumb mini daffodils? We have a clump of TTs that were given to us by a very dear friend as an Easter gift. They are now in their third location and doing well.
Your spring photos are dazzling--thanks for posting them!
You're very welcome :) they are Jetfire, they get better every single year and always arrive on time.

Hehe, indeed Alp. I believe it is N. 'Jetfire' I will get more next year for definite. The beast from the East must have been even harsher for you there.

Yep, I belong to an Alabama Rot Facebook group, it's very scary and on the rise. We always wash Barneys paws, legs, stomach and noses after walks with cold water and then an anti septic spray as this is the advice given by the specialist vets Anderson Moores. Must be more difficult for Logan with multiple dogs

It's hard work being a dog owner! So much to do and have to walk the dogs every day regardless of the weather. Hope the exercise is good for your body and soul! Dogs are indeed fun! Look at the labrador in the park. I often wonder what he meant when he wagged his tail after barking at the swan!

Lovely pics @Mark56 sorry about Barney's paws. Where do you take him for his walks? Ours go out 5 times a day.Never have trouble with our dogs, they walk on pavement all the time. Keeps the claws down as well.

@alp lovely pics, there are some dog owners who take their dog out only in good weather, we call them fare weather dog owners. They get us out of the house.

Thankfully Barney doesn't have it, it's essentially incurable :( poor dogs. I just take preventive measures and avoid muddy fields in late Autumn-late Spring, as that's when most cases are reported. Pavements walks are definitely safer :)

Feeling rather unmotivated in the garden for the time of year :( pending more cold weather putting me off doing much work on the lawn or garden but for pulling weeds out. I have done a little bit today.

A new Garden centre opened up yesterday just down the road so ventured out a dinner time to have a nosy, it on the small side some things are very expensive and other bits reasonably priced. Nothing there what can't be bought else where especially when there is 8+ supermarkets / discount stores plus another very expensive / rude GC within a mile radius all sell plants and other gardening related stuff. A can't see it lasting to long it way out of the way up a hill, I hope they do well but will have to wait and see. Handy for me also with it just be down the road.

Walking back home with the sun shining with just a Tshirt on  ( and trousers don't want to give the wrong impression  ). Had a mooch around the garden inspected a few plants if any signs of growth yet. Turned the top bit of the compost heap which I will be emptying soon for the GH border etc. Mulched and feed the rhurbarb. Started to attack some couch grass but noticed it coming from next door so weed killed. Check the canna's one got a shoot on, the other canna taking its time the rhizome still firm so a waiting game like everything else. Still waiting for the hellibore to flower, its budded up and its on its way.

Potted up a basket for my sister with new strawberry runners, I getting rid off all my old strawberries, I am waiting on a delivery. Drilled holes in 6 plastic troughs and pottted one up with the few strawberry plants I want Cambridge favourite.

I've been looking everywhere for red pansy seem to be vary allusive at the moment, no doubt they be plenty when I don't want any .

It been on the news about the dog disease, nasty stuff looks like it fatal if they get it. :(.

Ah hem! Thanks for adding that! LOL!:LOL:

So better how small a nursery is, it's just nice to see new places. We went into this nursery which is basically a wholesale furniture centre and they have massive amount of plants from Holland. Got a plant which looked very healthy and looked like blueberry for a fiver as the label disappeared. Saw a lot of peonies and irises but they are always the same varieties. But very pleased to have found nearer outlets which is just 5 minutes' drive away.

I have Cambridge strawberries, I also bought some AGM varieties - Alice, et 2 more for 50p each. Last year when I paid 50p, it was a 5L pot Sweet Colossal and as usual, I haven't looked after it well and I don't even know if they are dead or alive!

Good morning to everyone: Once the sun is out, I'm shredding my leaves ..

Someone up the road is offering screen top soil. Will definitely go and get some freebie as I am now weeding like an idiot!

Thanks Alp i've looked it up, it's to do with people walking their dogs in muddy woodland areas. I know it does get a bit muddy where we walk them and there's a copice, most of the time they're alright and if they get muddy paws i'll wash them. Usually with a wet cloth, they don't like me using them with a bowl of water.
I wouldn't put anticeptic on, they would start licking them and that will make them sore. Thanks.:)

Sounds awful. When you walk your dogs, you have to be careful of ticks and now diseases for the dogs. One just can't be too careful. A woman felt on a staircase and ended having her leg amputated. In life, everything is probably written in the star! And there's something very wrong with the garbled text in mine! LOL!

Morning all, how is everyone this lovely sunny morning.:)
Busy day, having a haircut this morning then we have the solicitors this afternoon to sign paperwork for my brother's move.

It's such a shame for dogs. They so enjoy walking off lead and free in woods or countryside environments. My Dad always walked his dogs a couple of times a day through either the local woods, lakes or the country park and with the New Forest nearby that was also a favourite.
We have had warnings about this disease for a while now in the NF area.:(
So sad , my Dad's dogs have all loved being outside ,even his old Labrador who is 16 this year spends most of her days out in the garden. It use to be pure joy watching them bound off as soon as we arrived at the chosen walk site. They were so well trained and always stayed on the walkways, and in the woods you could tell when they could scent the deers, foxes etc.. My Dad always says a good dog walk should stimulate all their senses as well as provide exercise . Sad that this disease is casting a big worry over this now.
But agree that a 'pavement ' walk ( although not as enjoyable) is probably better and safer for some!:)(y)

Have a Magical Monday:)

They still enjoy their walks even though they're always on lead. They don't have to be off lead to have a good walk.:)(y)

Around here the desease that's worse is lung worm. That's on the increase, they have a worming tablet that covers all worms every 3 months of course they we have to get it from the vet and have to be weighed Also I give them a flee treatment every 2 months, that's for ticks as well.

Each to their own....I am not being disrespectful to peoples choices, we have ours and believe OUR dogs prefer a little freedom.(y):)

Agree there are a lot of other things to be aware of too, and regular check up and preventative meds is a must.(y)
