Good!! I still have little regrets and feel that missed out on certain times through our 3 childrens younger years. Hubs took them for all ( for example ) their swimming lessons every Saturday morning, while I waded through child development reports for Social Services and later OFSTED......not seeing some of my own children's developments :cry:.

Keep a clear head!! @Leeski :)

You have had such a good hubs and wife team here! Long may you enjoy the union and happy family life! But see, you've trained your hubs well! He even cooks!

according to soil survey chart our soil should be clay I have dug around 3 foot deep in various places and it’s between clay and top soil so not to bad when I first moved here we dug in a tonne or topsoil and loads of horse manure have Studied the soil by us and there’s a fertile area where the Estery use to run runs straight through the middle of the Wirral strange that’s where I have focused my house search ;-)

Yes, wouldn't it be nice to have silt and fine alluvial soil for gardening as long as no risk of flooding. I'm dreaming of a small house where I can open all windows - no gun firing neighbours or petrol bombing incidents or young guys drawing down their hoods entering a housing complex selling gear ... Ah, there's a 4 bedroom house for sale North of Scotland .. with a polytunnel and solar panels .. Hahaha!

Missed this. Came in to see where to plant my Loropetalum Chinese Rubrum Fire Dance and Dapne and saw this. Good for you, Tablets are never as good as a fire in your belly to get you going! it's actually a good idea to talk about it and share it with others rather than being closed in on yourself.

Was wondering if @Perki 's suffering from depression as well!:LOL::ROFLMAO:

Needed to crack a joke, Perki and the "talk of the devil" just popped up and posted a like! How's your cold, @Perki ?

I will stay here and consume another bowl of cereal ... Oh, dear! My life is a repetition - like my photos. Please bear with me .. for another half an hour!

Just got Hayloft and T&M catalogues. Won't buy from them, but saw a variegated fritillaria imperalis and a Crinodendron Hookerianum. Think @Perki has one?? Not sure! The Crindo in a 9cm pot for £15:eek::eek::eek:! excluding postage. I got mine for £7 and it is going very well. Ooops, my alstroemeria seed pod just exploded in the kitchen!

Sorry @Leeski just seen your post as I'm at my Dad's today....scrubbing :ROFLMAO:.

Well done , give yourself a pat on the back for channelling your thoughts and actions to something more positive and rewarding.
Sadly I have had ( and have now) several very, very close family members who have (had) severe depression and are still needing meds, two I hope are moving forwards in their lives now and are starting a new and exciting phase.....hopefully they will be able to wean themselves off like you have done

Please don't forget if you feel like a chat or a need to off load you can always pm me.Sometimes just writing things down or sharing with someone who is not directly involved can prove to be very beneficial.
Take care.:)(y)

Well, I have been lazy! I have found out that Rosings in Pride and Prejudice is actually Belton House in Grantham

and Mr Darcy's Pemberley is actually Lyme Park In Cheshire! I love Belton House. Lyme Park is OK.

Gardening great to take your mind off things, keeps you busy with a calming atmosphere in my opinion.

No I don't have a Crinodendron, I don't have many shrubs really mainly herbaceous. I believe they need acidic soil, a garden I've been to has a Crinodendron really interesting when in flower but a forgettable shrub when it just leaves.

I got my first seed catalogue today Mr fothergills, Lidl have alliums next weekend along with other bulbs :sneaky:

Its more a less rained all week, when it hasn't there been a very heavy dew and then rained later in the day, weekend looks pants as well . I've still got my cold it seem to be coming back (n) keeps raining on me isn't helping.

Gosh! So much rain for you, @Perki when I kept watering today. I have put to ground a lilac, 2 crinodendrons, one magnolia, 2 blueberries, one Loropetalum Chinese Rubrum Fire Dance, 2 Daphnes and one Chestnut seedling raised from seed. I haven't really put them in the border, but rather sank the whole pots into the area as insurance .

Perki - take some lemon and honey and make a warm drink .. Must be very frustrating to have a cold whilst it's raining non-stop. I have had a lovely day. Sweated just a bit, but otherwise, perfect for gardening. My sweetcorns are totally useless. All should be ripped up as the corns are not going to mature in this weather. The tuft had gone brown and worms attacking the tips. I boiled them, but they were inedible.

Son came home very excited, saying that 2nd lot was heavier than the first lot. Well, it's heavy, but it is mainly algae instead of seaweed!:LOL:

Another question @alp please :)

Although these are very ordinary lime green Hellebores, they certainly brighten up the borders in late winter. Despite looking very lush and healthy they have grown so big that they have taken over the border, I doubt that we'll even get to see the flowers under such a lot of leaves!!! ....So should I cut back some of the leaves?
Thanks.
