Lovely flowers @Zenj and @alp that meal looks yummy Alp. Hubby can't eat joints of pork, it makes him unwell, his mom was the same. But he can eat sausages and bacon. I don't mind it,but it's no use me having it. My favourite is lamb, but too expensive. Have Sainsbury's beef, silver side very tender, also turkey.

Tesco's bread is good from the bakery, white and the wholemeal.
Have the breaded fish when ever it's reduced, from Morrisons or Sainsbury.:)

Your hubby is a good shopper! You're lucky that he's willing to drive from shop to shop. Some men just refuse to do that!

I really don't like red currants as mine are really sour. They look very nice, but so tarty. If you make jam, you will have more room for your Christmas stuff. Or you can make fruit tarts like the lovely ones you've uploaded here. They look like a real treat.

It had looked like every tomato seed I planted germinated. Today did some more transplanting.
Normally the plants had only 5/6 hours of direct sunlight. All of them looked fantastic. Figured some extra sun might not be a bad thing,...wrong. If I manage to save one or two out of the 15 I transplanted I will be happy.

Oh, dear! Could we have a pic or 2 to see what has happened please? I am worried about mine too. They were in some cheap little plastic tents with one flap each as a door. But we had a very hot spell and the leaves withered under the heat. They all now have flowers and fruits. Now we are 10 degrees lower. All quite worrying. But fortunately, I have them in different spots receiving different amounts of light. Some of them sprouted from dumped compost.

Are they just wilting? If so, you don't need to worry. But you might be a better gardener than I.

Good morning to all. Just tell you how much I know. They looked so lovely, so I underestimated how tart they were. Incidentally, did you take cuttings of your black currants and are they rooting in water please, @Logan ? I took some yesterday and they are now in soil. Thought I might try your method as I remember seeing ROOTS from yours!

Morning !.:)

@alp do you leave your tomatoes in the plastic tents or do you remove them? Ours have never been inside at all apart from when they were first sown.A couple are in pots on the patio ,but the rest are planted out in the borders amongst the flowers and have been fine in all the recent weather situations, heat, rain and strong winds

Morning all @alp yes I took cuttings of blackcurrants, put them in water and they rooted, put them in soil and doing well. I was surprised that they did, but did it in June when i harvested the currants, to cut out some of the old wood.:)

Hubby managed to get berry out this morning, but he can be so stubborn. That's berry of course.:ROFLMAO:

Good morning, Upsy! I removed the tents a few days before the end of the heat and I could smell the smell of the tent. They are now near the end of the garden, with about 10 hours of light. The ones that had split bottoms had been in the hottest path and so I removed them. They didn't taste that good. Sun is coming through but the temperature is definitely on the cool side. I am not complaining. Planning to do a lot of cuttings now that the plants have been well watered by mother nature. The broken Amistad cuttings are responding very well in the lean to. Was in the process of tidying up that area to make an organised mess when taking the cuttings.

Any gardening plan for today?

If it's that cold, I wouldn't want to go out! It's a bit like freezing, very autumnal even in Essex! Berry is clever!

I will do that as I can see a lot of new shoots.

Plans to day are to pot on for the 3rd time my Wallflowers, and various cuttings that have now outgrown their pots. Started to cut back the Lavenders last week so may continue with the others today.Took loads of cuttings from an old Lavender that I may possibly get rid of:cry: ( hate ditching plants....have quite a few that should go, but just can't do it. Hubs can though(y)).They are all doing well. Will also pick some tomatoes too.

How about you, what are you up to today?
