Hello , just been playing tennis and it come on absolutely bouncing it down , drenched is a understatement . I wouldn't be surprised if there is some flash floods, my bin for water will be overflowing could of filled a few up. Not much gardening today, took a few pictures of the kniphofia tawny king I'll put some on later.

Waaaa! Waaaah! I wish I could just have 5 minutes of this liquid gold!

Apparently, Wanstead Flats is still smothering and can be burning underground

Even the Fire Chief is praying for rain. That's supposed to be a posh area. That probably will concentrate some effort. This is scary stuff as lives could be at stake.

@Leeski That's a lovely garden and it's no neat. Glad that you're going to own your own home. Must be quite exciting.

@MaryMary Some townies can be scandalised by the idea of eating pigeons. Glad that you think they can be harvested as a crop. They probably have less growth hormones.

I have been a bit ill in the afternoon. Just now, I have watered some part of my desert!

Glad that I watered part of the dying breeds as the mossies weren't half as active. But I'm worried that the SS will be out in drove! :cautious:! Killed 2 even in the dark.

Thank you. A little bit better and now off to bed. Have a good rest, @Upsy and all. Keep some BBQ and fried okra for me, @DirtMechanic ! Get up 4.30am tomorrow to give the desert a drink! Good night/day, everyone!

OFFICIAL: I HAVE A HEDGEHOG in my garden.

Heard the alarm go at 4am, and it was ever so hot. Got up a bit up late and wondered if I would miss my hunchback friend. Was 5 minutes into watering and saw it coming out into the main lawn. I walked with it until it reached my patio and veered toward nasty neighbour's way. I thought I would see it feed at my seed trays, but no. Didn't really know where it went. But didn't want to frighten it. So I resumed my watering.

Strange that it was so cool and breezy in the garden and yet so hot in the back bedroom. Now I want to go to bed again. I hope it's going to be cooler today. Let the firemen fighting the Wanstead Flats fire have a break.

Morning, yes it was a much better night and today will hopefully be slightly cooler too.

Our dose of rain is back on the forecast ,now for the last weekend of the month (y)

Hubs has just watered the garden, we are going into town this morning before the heat of the day builds up.

Lovely to know you have hedgehogs in your garden @alp :)
We have them too , not that I actually see them ....just what they leave behind:LOL: Our neighbours say they see them frequently.

Have a lovely day!:)

@Leeski Good luck with your scramble. People were fighting out onto the pavement over Pound World stuff. Shame our Wilko holds firm until very late and then everything which is worth something disappeared the speed of lightning!

Got up just now as 4am was a bit anti social. The sun is in full force, again! No respite for the wicked. When I read the hoseban, I felt very ill and went out and insert it into one butt. I am not joking, all my hellebores have yellow leaves. Last night, I was in my birthday suit again. Thank heavens that son was not home. It's just so stifling inside my house. Didn't want to open the windows facing the busy road. Was surprised to feel how cool it was when I ventured out in the dark to water my plants. Porridge again!:cry:

@Logan Glad that you didn't go out too early. Now that you have only 2 dogs, probably a good idea to relax the regime!

Yes, very pleased to have one big hedgehog. Will use my CCTV dodgy camera to record it for you.

As it stands just the north west has hosepipe ban - starts 5th of next month if it does happen I’m not paying my water bill until it ends
Would rather have a wash in my loo than not water my plants

There might be a bit more rain your way. Thank heavens that the winter was a wet one, but still I will have to pay a lot for my watering.
