Don't you just love the internet, @Upsy Daisy !

Because of the internet, we can see the priest slapping the crying baby

French priest, 89, is SUSPENDED after video of him slapping a crying baby went viral – and says he will never perform a baptism again
Things can only get HOTTER! Britain sizzles in 70F as rising temperatures mean it will be warmer than RIO for England's World Cup match on Sunday... with a 90F heatwave set to hit next week

I love it and kept buying seeds and it's been 3 years. Not a sausage! Then suddenly, they have taken over 1/8 of one of my plot!

Just watched GW......rain garden seems like a good idea.....if we had rain!!!

But I do get the theory behind it.....reduces the run off into our rivers and helps curb flooding.:)

I really enjoyed GW! Lovely peonies, and a lesson on the three kinds of peonies. I have them all - herbaceous, intersectional and tree peonies! The irises are fascinating and a garden in one day puts me to shame! I have 22 years and I am getting nowhere!

Hehe! @Upsy Daisy Same here - it was a very good programme! Wonderful! I love the Beechgrove garden as well where orchids were planted along a river.

Rain is what we both need, @Upsy Daisy ! Thought you were going to watch The Bridge?!

I am going to dig ditches all around the garden. I am killing my plants.

I certainly have a desert area that could do with it....but the dilemma would be forsaking some of my water butts...mmmm!?
At least having the water stored in the butts allows me to use it anywhere in the garden , but it would require a lot of ditches to compensate for losing them.
But in an ideal world I think it's a great idea(y)

I think water butts is hopeless. I have used 8 of them and now it will be tap water. Definitely some drought resistant plants. Change the texture of the soil to make it more moisture retentive. It's easier said than done.

I happend perchance to talk to a gardener at last years fish convention in Wetherby Nth Yorks and he said to me if you want to water your lawn get up early and run a soft yard brush over the grass to force the dew down onto the soil before it evaporates he states that is all the grass needs...now I dont know if there is any truth in this but it seemed fairly plausible...

After all that I have just gave the grass copious amounts of water and Miracle Gro feed this evening..I feed it every 2 weeks....
I might even buy some soluble feed for the borders and pots...???
