Good morning to all, and especially to the early riser, the two Logans! Lovely avatar!

Sunny already. Supposed to be a good day, with no rain. Going out to dig up the Sambuscus Nigra and Solomon Seal so that I have more land for veg and hellebores. A hellebore fest is predicted.

Thanks Alp:) Been doing so much stooping down to garden that my lower back has started aching a lot, have to stop doing it for a while.
I might do the tomato and beetroot seeds, think i can manage that. Hubbys got himself a dressing gown but the sleeves are too long, he's got short arms.:ROFLMAO: Have to take them up, he's like that with his shirts. I've given up on growing some veg because of slugs and snails, no point. But I'll still do my runner beans. I haven't done the Kale this time, I'd rather grow flowers for the bees.
Hellebores are nice, I dug up some seedlings that were in the wrong place, never know might have a different one and their good for bees when there's nothing else around.

Morning all from a bog eyed BigC just got in last night at 2 am from London trip..what a drive..London, Birmingham, Chester and the whole of Nth Wales baked in sunshine so I phoned the wife from central London dinnertime yesterday and she said yes all the plants have had a good watering and she hadn't done it. So whilst I was topping up my tan, my homeland was being treated to an April deluge...
Well I'm back and I cant wait to get out into the garden (I got a few tips from Rich Folks in Chelsea) so that has swelled the Patio Bar Project funds a little ...

What a terrible drive within such a short period of time, @BigC ! Rich folks certainly dwell in Chelsea - £1 for a king prawn from Scotland sold by the French in a street stall and that was 5 years ago.

I am going to squeeze in some gardening hours before ex visits. First thing is to get the oven ready. Very stressed for an afternoon. I'm so spoilt compared with our lovely @Upsy Daisy !

Logan: I have been sent crashing twice in the garden. Senility for me! Too much stuff and too messy. Now, I am going to fill up 20 pots and all with seeds in them and see how they fare. Fed up with looking at trays in the lean to and in the kitchen.

@BigC yes it must have been terrible going on the M42. We went on it a couple of times to go down to bixon, I think that's right, so long ago. When the laser discs was just coming out there was a shop there that sold them. They were the size of a LP in those days.

I don't start the runner beans too early at end of April in the concervatory, in a seed tray, I don't water them much until they come up. When they've grown a bit I put them into toilet rolls, or something that they can have a long root run. Keep them there until end of may. I put mine in large containers and use egg shells after planting.put the canes in first then plant and tie them on the canes.wrap the whole thing in fleece right up the canes, i tie it with string around the rim of the container.if you can fold the fleece to stop them getting in underneath the fleece, if it's sunny during the day I take the fleece down and put it back in evening to stop the slugs and snails, we have mainly snails.
When the beens are growing well then I leave.it off and leave it around the pot.

Lovely sunny morning.....until I had another grumpy phone call:(

Never mind I'm going to forget it(y)....off to the cinema with a friend after lunch:) Although I'm not an ' official ' pensioner yet.....a few more years to go (y) I can attend 'senior showings' at the cinema!
Never been before....drinks,biscuits and film for just under £4:unsure:
We are going to see Colin Firth in Mercy:)

Good luck with your seeds @alp.....I got like you too...fed up with seed trays.Put a clear plastic bottle (cut in half) over the pots or even a clear freezer bag .

Can I join the bad back club too....my spine has set like cement this morning, too much panic direct sowing I think. I have osteoporosis in my lower spine and should know better!! The trouble is when feeling OK you tend to forget you have an ailment ....until its too late!!:(

Have a good day everyone....I intend to:)(y)

Oh dear are you ok. I read that a man saved his mother from selinity, by changing her diet. Berries, especially blueberries, leafy vegetables and less processed foods.

Oh, Logan: I would need more than that!

8oz of Sirloin with 1/3 of marbled fat, 2 crisply baked chicken thighs, 2 Big Macs and 2 Big Whoppers!

Gee, I will be perfectly healthy ..

Blueberries? No, too bland! LOL!

Upsy, please feel better soon! I sympathize with you, since I'm sore, but just sore from weeding and hauling yesterday. I really hope you will be back to normal quickly. Let us know what you think of the movie.
Alp, your diet left out a slab of apple pie topped with whipped cream! I am lucky in that my husband will eat almost anything I fix, so I can cook healthy meals most of the time, and occasionally go overboard and fix a "killer" meal!

marling: I'm so fed up with surfing for teak oil that I am very pleased with this diversion provided by you. My mind just goes from teak oil, to boiled linseed oil, deck oil to uv, non uv .. and of course, best price and then there is the sizes, 500ml to 5L .. My eyes are rolling like mad! And then I have to hold my breath. I feel like taking the tallest ladder and go and smell that neighbour's hole outside my driveway. I hate these vain people who can't count their blessings but want to have German cars, posh holidays by dealing misery to others and ...

No, I have to stop.. and put the house on the market the end of next week. I hate myself for being such a whinge! All moan and no action.

Yes, shame I don't bake, but I would love a fluffy gateau with tons of real fluffy cream. Sometimes, we all need a bit of guilty pleasure. Which movie? Black Narcissus - lovely film. A bit of psychology, so human and so true. I love Sister Phillipa who planted sweet peas, delphinium, tulips instead of potatoes, onions .. Who can blame her? The choice is obvious! Delphinium 1 - potatoes 0! LOL! I nearly cried when Siser Clodagh told her to work very hard to suppress her erring thoughts and then she showed her blistered hands.

Love old films like these, no hanky panky and so platonic .. Now, I need to sort out dinner! Talk to you later.

I hope your back isn't hurting so badly. Yesterday, we spent half a day going to shop, so I am quite OK. But I must be careful. Next time, I might not be so lucky. You take care, too, marling!
