Well, so much for doing any gardening today--we have a steady drizzle going. Here in Texas, I should not complain about sky moisture, but its timing could have been better.
Back to the kitchen--I get a lot of cooking done on rainy days! I may sneak out to the barn later and harvest some fresh herbs to freeze. I have pots of them on a shelf in the barn, and so far the cats have stayed out of them. However, they do love basil, so I still have a pot of basil near the porch for them to stick their little pink noses into.

Upsy Daisy, I love basil also! I start basil from seed in late January inside and under grow lights, then plant it out in pots and in the tomato patch. Any leftover plants go to friends (which makes it hard to give away excess basil later!).
We grow the Italian large leaf basil, which has such a great flavor and aroma. We also plant Genovese, which is a bit stronger and not as sweet as the large leaf. Genovese freezes better.

I bet @marlingardener is queueing after @Upsy Daisy for @Logan 's dinner!

Just imagine that. Fantastic way to know one another better. Not virtual friends..

Basil is very aromatic; trouble is that whenever I bought one, I didn't get the chance to use the leaves. They are ended up dry, old and buggy .. Shame.

Haven't done much today. Went around diy centres to get wallpapers and get 7 rolls at 20p. Two rolls to reduce the shock of patterned cheap rolls cost me £14..

Cut tons of rosemary to put on top of the radiator to get the aroma round the house. Hope it helps.

Caught up with The A word and it was fantastic.. It has at least more than one story lines - Joe's autism, Ralph's Down symdrome, Joe's grandad's romance, Joe's uncle's divorce, Joe's step-sister's romance and the other autistic kid's meltdown which was quite terrifying. I don't believe that are such saintly parents..

When a boy darted out chased by a teaching assistant, it reminds me of similar incidents when my son went to the support group activities.. We had one helper dedicated to keeping a hawk eye on one boy who tended to run around. When we went on an outing, there was a Tourette sufferer swearing all the way home in the coach..
