Wisteria Root

Many here are correct, wisteria is the cock roach of plants. We use it decorative over our front windows but is has to be culled back and controlled every two weeks. I did sucuessfully remove a huge section of it by literally digging up about 80 square feet of earth and hand removing the massive roots. We put black star gravel over where it was and before I put the dirt back in I dropped about 250 lbs or rock salt to death blow the roots. It worked. And I worked... alot.

Nah, bad back here. I soil inject tryclopyr. 3 year wait though so only for the worst cases. Two seasons minimum.

I really try to avoid that whole scene for real. But my wife liked the idea of natural fencing so she tossed seed pods from a large trifoliate lawn orange up into the woods along the property edges. Now try to go kill those nasty things and not the hickory beside it! I am afraid to use too much as it is also sloped for an unfortunate runoff.

One thing I like about root balls is they are drought resistant. I have this cascade rose that loves a good root like that wisteria.
