My bedding petunias and acorn squash were set back a bit from a cold snap a week ago but they seem to be growing again.
I am pleased that I bought a couple packs of Opera petunia seed last fall.
Only one opera plant in these baskets.

My yellow rose of Texas is about to go into bloom, no sign of leaf hoppers yet. They tend to ravage these rose leaves if I don't hit them every few days with a hard water spray.

My red velour petunias, three plants per basket. Should be stunning when they are hanging five ft down.

Scarlet runner beans and petunias, I didn't feel like filling the veggie trug with potting soil this year.

I quickly snipped some of my Iris flower stalks yesterday before the storm and have them on my piano now. Usually storms make the flop over but as you can see no floppers, I could have left them alone.

The petunias on my ladders are from cutting I took, they will be in their full glory when the basket petunias are getting sorry looking and need their late July trimming.

Johnny, you've got some pretty cool pots in your collection!

Royal poinciana! I wish we could grow this tree here, the color is unbelievable. This is far from the best example, it's just the one I could get the best picture of. Still working on a good plumeria. Lots around, I just hadn't been able to get a good picture.

Our Mayleen clematis in a big tub by the front door.

I've been traiining this to "cascade." It naturally wants to grow upwards so I have to keep tying new branches down.

The wisteria on the pergola next to our garage.

This once was a huge plant about fifty years old. We inherited when we bought the house in 1972. This is the second pergola I've built for it in the last thirty years. The first one made entirely of 3" X 2" was beginning to bend under the weight. It had a lot of ugly branches.

But a couple of years ago most of it died off as the base had started to rot .

All we were left was this one branch that I'd trained along the fence over this door in it on to the back pergola.

Fortunately I was able to train some branches that grew off the base of this bit and another bit that had layered near the side garage door and they are doing very well. We've also a new white wisteria in the middle that we bought in case the others died.
