I've had a helicopter continuously buzz over the house today, and I noticed it was landing at a nearby park. Turns out there's a small festival going on today and they had heli rides. I'd love to do it but too expensive for such a short ride. Fun to watch from the ground, and that was free, so I watched it take off and land a couple times.

Went for a walk around the lakes across the lane from us this morning. There is one large lake and 3 smaller ones, it was beautiful up there only saw one person who was fishing.

The lakes are just the other side of these trees and there's a pathway opposite our house that leads to them

What if you do not want to sleep at night? You can take a book, you can draw and listen to music. But you can go for a walk. I do not really like night clubs. I could go to the night bookstore to watch new books and drink coffee. Or in the night museums. For example, "Bulgakov house". This museum offers tours of the "strange apartment" and the city. The guide tells about the places (and shows them) in which actions took place from the famous novel “The Master and Margarita”. By the way, at the entrance of the museum you will be greeted by characters from this very book.

But I decided to go for a night walk. I planned a trip on the river from evening to night and then a night walk along the embankment. :D

I apologize in advance for the quality of some photos.

I usually find out what the weather like when I go out of the house. I did not think it would be so cold! Last week it was +20 degrees Celsius. But it was a night of frost. I read somewhere that if you do not want to sleep, you need to go out into the cold for a while. If you are cold, you will want to sleep. It looks like it's true. My walk on the promenade was not too long due to the cold wind. :sneaky:

@MaryMary how far are the falls from where you live? They are very pretty and inviting. Do the falls have a proper name?

@Larisa and what might this river be named? What? no snow yet?

The snow was taken away with the bears! :D

This is the Moscow - River. It was the river that gave the name to this city 870 years ago. But why the river is called "Moscow" is not exactly known. Although there are many theories. :)

Have you ever been to a Barcino forest? Barcino is one of many common names in central and southern Mexico and Central America for the wild tropical hardwood tree Cordia eleagnoides. Barcino is the common name in Colima. I know this because the head of maintenance in our neighborhood, Ramon, was born and raised here and just happens to be a fanatic about local flora. Oh, lucky me. He knows the common name of things but that is all i need to know to find the botanical name. The vegetation down the road appears to be predominantly Barcino but now i will have to take a closer look. It will be a nice walk unless there is a tropical storm or hurricane (tis the season). The forest is wild and provides habitat for various critters, including 2 species of Pygmy owls. The Barcino trees also have edible fruit. Many of the trees are in full bloom with billowing umbels of white flowers. I have never seen or heard anyone harvesting these trees but they must harvest the wood somewhere because it is a popular wood for making cabinetry and i learned that the interior stairs from the first to second level of the abode are also made of Barcino. The trees self populate exuberantly. So welcome to the Barcino forest, the trees grow to about 8m (26 ft). I am looking forward to exploring and getting some close ups.

Oh, Beverly, this is very interesting! I even looked at the information in the encyclopedia, but I understood that you know more. Looks like it will be very exciting! I would like to be there too. Let virtually, but I'm with you! :D

Very beautiful landscape in the background! (y) :)
