She couldn't see me, the garage and shed are in the way.
I do a lot of stuff out there (like this) of which she knows nothing and I don't bother to tell her. That would be asking for trouble!

Sore?
I played golf in the morning the following day, (up at 7.00am) then did the shopping after lunch!

Tilled the upper plot yesterday, will make rows next week. Going to try to till the lower plot but rain is coming.

Got a fuel tank issue on my truck, going to look into that if I get rained out.

Taxes are my job, cleaning is the wife's. It's probably better that way than reverse.

Got the tilling done just before the rain hit. Next week making rows if the weather holds.

4 am thunder storm sounded very nice as the, thunder got louder, lightning got brighter, rain got closer. My very dry garden needed that 1/2" of rain. More rain to come. 8:06 am sky is very dark gray.

So far just a slow steady rain for southern and south Eastern Kentucky with a little of haly inch of rain.
They're still saying tornados could develop later on in Southern Kentucky and Tennessee.
Hoping it doesn't get that bad and we just keep getting the light rain.
I was hoping to get my potatoes and onions in the ground today but that didn't happen. I'm not going to complain cause we needed the rain.
I'm just going to stay indoors today watch the SEC tournament.
Hoping Tennessee beats Auburn.

I thought I'd start a new thread that can be continuously updated by everyone any day of the year. We have people on the forum from all around the world, so there is always somebody doing something with their garden. I think it would be nice to check in and see what our members have done. So whether you've been busy today or busy three months from today, here's the question... What did you do in your garden today?

I spent today preparing my vegetable garden. I had tons of weeds to pull. There's some kind of invasive grass that pops up in there, along with creeping charlie, so I pulled as much as I could find. I can start planting in about four weeks, so it's nice to have it all ready for the season! If I remember right, peas seeds can be planted before the average last frost date, so I might plant them soon. As some of you may know, growing fruits and vegetables is only a small hobby for me. I'm not into it as much as other forum members. I grow peas for my pond fish, as well as couple of tomato plants, pumpkins for decoration, strawberries, a blueberry bush, and a peach tree. I'm also trying lettuce this year. Tomorrow, I may add a few native plants to the outside edges of my vegetable garden so it looks a little more showy throughout the season.
It creates a space for people to not only share their progress but also get inspired by the variety of gardens and approaches.

I trimmed my redtwig dogwoods today, and then cut down a lot of leftover stems. But I always leave parts of the each stem standing about 1 foot tall for the native bees to nest in. I probably shouldn't have been out though because dust from the southern plains blew through here today.

This is what 3¼" of rain looks like. It rained on & off all day then big flash flood at 3:30 pm for 30 minutes. Seed potatoes should be ok as long as standing water drains away. Weather radar shows rain all the way south to the, Golf of Trump.

Wow, onions from bulbs look like they grew 2" taller over night. Onions from plants still look terrible. Yesterday every time rain stopped it returned an hour later raining harder than before. It rained all night & rain gauge says, 5" of rain in about 18 hrs. Next year I need to remember to only plant bulbs. In the long run $21 onion plants grow slightly larger onions than $3 bulbs, the $21 price is a waste of money. If I had 30 garden hoses I don't think I could do what mother nature did.

Well, I do both. I have better organization skills than him. He's just plan messy.

@gary350 , are those condos backing up to your property? bet they are jealous. Awesome size veggie plot. I don't have a large direct sunny area. At best I can place a large pot is a small sun area and put a tomato plant in. However, with all the Amish about us, and the two of us, we get plenty of veggies.
