Worked from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Cleared all the bluebell foliage in the front garden, pruned a viburnam and dead-headed one of the rhodos. Mowed the lawn and tied up a few branches on the Mayleen over the front door. Did a bit of pruning at the top of the big acer tree with my telescopic pruners, where a pesky wood pigeon tries to build a nest every year. We don't need the thing cooing, st 5.00 am in the morning, three feet away from our bedroom window!

Cleared the bluebell foliage in the end bed of the back garden and also the little bed between the shed and the tea-house. Mowed the lawn. Dead-headed several roses and then vacuumed up all the dead wisteria blossom.

Tomorrow, I've a few clematis to tie up. Still got some pointing of the patio and paths to do, I keep putting it off. But I'll give it all go of "Wet n' forget" before I get rtound to it. There's a lot of rhodo dead heading to be done, but I'll leave that for a week or so.

There's a lot of tennis on TV to watch.

Nothing, the missus came back from holiday today, so the first part of the day I spent cleaning and tidying up the house, Then i drove to Heathrow to pick her up. Never mind, I have had a whole week of being out there until eight o'clock before I come in and get dinner :)

Blackthumb, carrots are slow, don't expect much till fall. Cukes need lots of water.

As for bolted spinach, I believe it's still edible but tends to be bitter.

Going to finish mowing today, then fix my soaker hoses. Then prepping for tomorrow's BBQ. Ribs get rubbed, greens get chopped, ham bone gets simmered and gathering up jalapeños, corn and shredded cheddar for the cornbread.

Just a couple of hours this morning.
Dug the grass out of the rockery, dead-headed the roses and then cleared the moss out of the cracks between the flags on the "rose patio."

I gave the other patios and the paths a go over with "Wet n' Forget" to clear any green patches, before I get round to doing a bit of re-pointing later in the week.

It's been raining, so I've just checked the "greenhouse."

I've had difficulty getting grass seed to germinate under one of the acer palmatums. Also the birds pinch some of it, so five days ago a made up a mixture seed and potting compost with some water and put it in this ice cream tub on the shelf in front of the window in the shed.

I opened it this morning.

I'll leave it for a few more days then carefully sprinkle it where it's needed and gently tamp it down. It worked quite well this way last year.

I scooped out the seed and compost from the ice cream tub yesterday, it came out in small clumps as there was a fair bit of root attached to the seeds and sprinkled it where it was needed and trod it down.

I'll see how it goes, but I've another tub "cooking" in case more is needed elsewhere.

Did nothing today as it was a golf day.
But I did turn the garden lights on this evening as it's the Jubilee.

Pulled out some bolted spinach. Still have more to pull. Raised the watered beds..... WAIT! Strike that. Reverse it. Watered the raised beds. Pulled some more of that damnable Bermuda grass out of the raised beds. I was going to post a photo of the Hibiscus, but it closed up for the evening already. I'll post it tomorrow, if I can remember to take a photograph of it.

Cut the grass. Still need to trim. Getting ready to put some terracing in the yard. We'll probably use those terraces for a big pollinator garden. We haven't decided yet.

Did a bit of pruning of the three quinces on the side fence. I don't like them to grow much taller than the fence as they block out the sun from the border and I get moss patches on the edge of the lawn. They've had some rapid growth in the past few weeks.

I also cleared up that mess around the birds' ground feeder.

It and the rain didn't bother 'arry. A visit whilst it was still light for his breakfast then back to his house until it got darker.

Hello all, just joined the forum
My garden doesn't look as tidy as most of yours, I'm afraid... I use no dig method for most of the garden.
This morning did a bit of deweeding in flower bed, carrots, around raspberries that are taking over the world and around the border with the wild bit of the garden. Also pruned some swiss chard, raspberries, gooseberries and tops of red currants attacked by annoying aphids.

Hi and welcome.

No one should feel embarrassed about the state of their garden. How it looks can be affected by a lot of things. Many are happy with how they look, I've no problem with that, it's not my business. Some don't have the time to be more attentive, or are physically unable to be so.
Those like me who are retired can devote the time, but despite what many might think from my photos, I spend as much time on several other hobbies.
In the end this message board is more about swopping photos, asking for, or giving advice, reporting successes and failures and having a bit of a laugh.
