Hi,

I wondered where my Blackie had disappeared to Logan; sorry if he's pestering you but please feel free to keep him permanently with my compliments; is Gale with him too because it's strange here this morning; it's so far not raining and the wind has given way to the more usual prevailing breeze.

8C dropping down to 4C tonight but over the last few days I've felt perished and its taken me ages to warm up; perhaps it's due to me no longer digging up stumps and roots? ;)

I've been grafting for over 40 years and today I feel lazy.:(

Kind regards, Colin.

@Colin Yes i did have your blackie but he's gone now. Perhaps he's going back to you.;)

You deserve to be lazy a few times with all the work that you have done.

We might get some frost tonight, but the Cosmos is hanging on.;)

Hi,

Oh dear Logan just as I was considering heading into the workshop to service all my gardening kit in readiness for winter storage Blackie is on the loose again. :(:(:(

Twice weekly I do the supermarket shopping arriving at the first of three around 7:15; at this time if it's frosty I have to spend ages clearing the car windows before it's safe to drive away; a couple of days ago I bought through eBay a windscreen protector and this also protects the two front doors plus mirrors; at only around £7.50 including P&P it's worth a try and I can hang the protector in the workshop to dry after each use. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

16F (-9C) here today...serious freeze. Set a new record breaking the old one set in 1956. Nothing like a shot of global warming, huh?

Hi,

Ours is on its way MoonShadows and something not to look forward to because it lasts forever. I felt cold earlier this morning but I've now enjoyed a short session in the workshop servicing my petrol hedge trimmer and petrol chainsaw so these two are ready for action next June unless Gale or the snow when it arrives brings down branches or trees. I've also just washed and dried our Yeti which is sparkling until next time it's used. I'm warm now and feel a lot better for getting off my backside. I've been making the most of no Blackie nor Gale this morning in fact in the sunshine it's very pleasant indeed but it won't last. Petrol lawn mower next up for servicing but this will take a bit longer due to an oil change. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

Hubby sometimes say's that he's cold just sitting around,I say to him you should do a bit of vaccuming that will warm you up. He just says no and still sits there. The only time he will get the vac out is when he's killed a spider, vac it up and vac a bit of the carpet to make sure it's gone up there.

I hesitate to mention this, seeing all the posts about cold weather, but we are mowing the lawn today. I need grass clippings for the hen coop, and the grass keeps growing, so out we go! The temp is to be in the mid-70's today, with overcast sky. Perfect mowing weather!

Hi,

How times have changed Logan over the last 65 years. As a child my mother and most other mothers remained home with their kids whilst hubby went out to work; no such things as partners in those days; courting; engaged or married; single mums were hidden away in shame unless the hubby had died. Hubby's had hobbies such as an allotment to support their meagre income many being miners as were my late father and grandfather. Those hubby's having a bit of spare cash would take up model engineering having a small lathe in their shed.

It's sad now that so many hubby's/partners (?) prefer to sit around and be waited upon rather than get off their backside to do something interesting and useful. Bron and I are a team sharing everything we do between us; I do all the washing up and ironing; I also do the supermarket shopping twice weekly to help Bron; I do all the heavy work a guy should do to make our lives richer and to improve our bungalow whilst Bron adds the finishing touches turning it into a home and Bron looks after it; I don't mind in the least running round with the vac. We work together and in our 41 years of marriage Bron has never ever had to nag me to do a job; I volunteer and just get on with it. I promised in front of the world when we married that I would look after Bron and I'll never break that promise; pity so many couples forget this promise after marrying?

I hope I'm not on a soap box but it takes two to make a marriage work; my life revolves around Bron and I'll do anything to make her happy; OK so I'm a softie but I wouldn't exchange places with anyone and the old saying money won't bring happiness is bang on. (y)

Mid 70's marlingardener would give concern here in the UK especially if it didn't rain for a few days; ;)

Kind regards, Colin.

Don't get me wrong,he does do things, also he was really good when i fractured my knee and i had a full leg plaster on for 6 weeks. He had to do all dog walking and do the cooking that he's never done before. Then i had a leg brace for another 6 weeks. Being adjusted every 2 weeks so i could bend my knee a bit more. He does the shopping, i give him a list and he goes to get it. He pays the bills, cuts the grass, the most important thing he gets my compost.;)

Hi,

Well done your hubby Logan. (y)

I ended up with a shattered knee cap and a fractured ankle plus other minor injuries in 1970 after suffering a road accident; to this day I still only have one knee cap so I can fully understand your difficulties Logan when you suffered your injuries. I had a pot on one leg splints on the other leg; what fun.:(

I hope you made a full recovery Logan and recovered use of your injured knee. (y)

Kind regards, Colin.
