Same here. When it's hot, it's quite hot. A bit of cloudy periods is actually good for gardening. Planted quite a few non-flowering irises and potted up the new ones with my son doing some.

Warmer and less breezy than yesterday! I used to live in London - Lancaster Gate, Kensal Rise, Finchley, westbourne Grove .. miss the buzz when I went to Chelsea and Regents' Park..

What a fantastic day it has been, weather-wise! Sunny but not too hot. potted some salvia seeds and astrantia seeds.

Yes, very nice indeed. Early in the morning, I mowed the lawn and sealed up the gaps between the plaster boards and the uPVC. The cowboy plasterer really ruined my lean-to. When I complained to his brother about his shoddy work, it took his brother a whole day to find out that he didn't have a step-brother and then he said he could sort it out for me for a fee. He was employed by the double glazed company. In this country, you can always be had by builders. My friend, a doctor in Mechanical Engineering had powdery bricks used in his garden by the builders.. They always had a trick on us .. Any way, we bought some unibond sealant @£8.80 and then I found out that it was the wrong colour. Wasted £8.80. On Sunday, I saw something similar at B&M for below £3.. What a nice surprise.

@splinx sounds very humid in your winter. We're also drizzling in Essex and we are now 2.30 in the morning.

Woken up by heat and remembered that I didn't set up the slow cooker for the cooking apples, so I got up to do it and drain a filled-up butt so that water from the down pipe can fill that up again. Don't expect much rain. Surprised that the weather report is actually correct, for once.17c now. No wonder it is so much more warmer. Ideal for weeding tomorrow.

Was on the point of going to bed as I'm getting old. 4am here in Essex. @johnny canoe , I bet you're smoky and hot. It's been a long time since you've had your forest fires and hot weather .. glad to have an update, sad that you're now part of the tableau. Perhaps, I shouldn't have kicked up a big stink that my neighbours are making drugs and have been gassing us big time on Monday and Tuesday morning. In fact, they had stopped for a while and now with the police clearing them, they are back with a vengeance. Don't call the police if you're not English ..

Oh my world! Are they running a meth lad next door to you? I'm a Metis and made a stink when some guys were using a rental house two doors down for a brothel. They were driving in and out of the place all night, guys going in with a car load of girls and leaving alone. Didn't take long for them to buzz off when I went ape on the rental company.

Have you considered tipping off your local media outlets, I'm sure you could remain remain anonymous?

I think the temp will be 29C for Thursday.
