Raining now. Wish I had taken a lot of cuttings and listened to @Upsy Daisy and taken some camellia cuttings. The weather is perfect for cuttings to root! Ah, what was I thinking?

More horrible weather to come

The Big Freeze is back on: Sudden Stratospheric Warming means sub-zero temperatures on way from North Pole with mercury set to fall to -3C (and it dropped to -22C last time we were hit)

And the beast from the east is going to freeeeeeze us ...

What a miserable day.. raining ..

Morning @alp, yes doesn't look good. As it stands at the moment we have 11 consecutive days of - degree nights , starting later in the week!!!! So glad I held back on my seeds! Lowest temp is next Monday at -5

Yes, the temperature is at least higher, though colder in the long run as the sun is not there to warm my house. I think I am going to put a sheet over my irises. I have bought such a lot and they look exactly the same the day I split or planted them.

I wonder if this weather is good for taking cuttings .. just a thought. Anything to multiply the stock would be good!
