That's really beautiful grouie! I recently dug a small pond (it's a work in progress) and wish I could do a waterfall too. But my house is old and I don't want to overload the equally old electrical system until I get it rewired. But I have a lily now, and hyacinth and lettuce and reeds in and three very happy goldfish to eat the mosquito egg rafts.

I have garden snakes in my side yard...don't know if they'll come to the pond because that's the part of the yard where the dogs go out.

Any suggestions onvhow to arrange rocks? I have quite a few flat flagstones and am collecting lots of field rocks. I keep playing with them...

You have an incredible garden Grouie. You must have at least one of everything. I'm trying for that. I have a water feature, a column and water falls down it. I wonder if I could tick that as a yes.:cautious:;)

You first need to build a solid foundation with bricks and then place rocks with your own imagination. Just placing rocks will not let the water flow down. You also need to fortify the rocks with cement and not let the water get between the rocks.

Snakes will not come where there is pure water and as for the water fall it needs a reservoir of clean water as it has to enter the pumping system.
Good luck with your efffort.

I think that even the smallest waterfall would make me happy:) Listening to the sound of running water is one of my favorite things to do. It's so relaxing!
Then I am sure you will enjoy this video clip! :)

The sound of rain is so soothing and relaxing. That was a very lovely clip to share Grouie,. Thanks. We have a metal roof on our house so sometimes when the rain is heavy it is very loud but I love it.

It sure is a waterfall. I have seen those but have not added them in my projects.

these are it. http://www.amazon.com/Sunny-Lily-Fl...qid=1434075742&sr=8-8&keywords=solar+lily+pad

I have two of them. One each floating in a very very large crock in the center of my gazebo patio. It is filled with water, and when the sun comes out, the thing squirts up nice like a fountain, no wiring, no plumbing, just keep the crock full of water. In the picture you can see the crock I am referring to. I have another crock set up on a hill with a lily also floating in it. you can sort of see the lily in the center of the crock.

some people put them in little ponds, it comes with a weight line to use for that purpose so they don't float to a corner of the pond but stay centered, or in whatever position the person wants.
