We have tons of osprey around here, I'm struck by just how well they can 'fish'; I'm always seeing them with a fish in their talons.

I had an interesting sighting yesterday, while out on a run. I was crossing a bridge over a small feeder creek to the Intracoastal waterway and saw what at first I thought was a large tire in the water. As I looked closer I notice it was the very large tail of a 7 ft alligator. I spooked it and when it took off, it created a tsunami of water. I wish I had my camera:mad:

Hello roadrunner,
I was twelve yrs old when I first visited your beautiful state. And as a twelve year old farm boy, your gators fascinated me. Time and again we would be driving down the highways and I would spot two great eyes peering at me out of the water filled ditches. I also remember your fire flies at night.

The ospreys are back at the broadcast tower at ABC in Columbus, OH, too! (y) They have a camera up there, usually they just use it to time-elapse the weather for the day, until it's time for "Osprey Cam."

It's raining right now, so she's just looking miserable. I wonder if the camera makes any kind of humming noise - she looks at it an awful lot. She is ready for her close-up! :ROFLMAO:

It surprises me that they built a nest there, you'd think the bright flashing light would deter them, but this is their second year there, so I guess not.

I love this picture! That is Broadcast Lake that you see in the background. From an article I read, this time of year the parking lot is littered with sticks that didn't meet their approval, and bits of dead fish. :ROFLMAO:

Haha! The Abc webcam features n not a very friendly-looking bird. You've haven't said anything wrong. I have looked at the webcam 4 times! We will never see anything like it here unless we go to Scotland or much further north. Wonderful that you have it at the door step. Would love to see when the partner comes home!
