I quite enjoy Black Lake, but I have the feeling who's behind all the noises. Could be DAG!

Just finished watching Kitty Foyle on iplayer - lovely story and I really enjoyed it. No sex scene and I am glad that she makes the right choice in the end!

Yes, with two unknown actors, the story line seems to drag on a bit. but I like this kind of clean and positive movies more than any modern ones.. apart from Clueless, that is!

:p

Hi,

Bron and I have watched Housewife49 a couple of times and enjoyed it; so typical of the time and down to earth.

We very seldom watch normal TV but recently started to watch Gardeners World so we now get a bit back for our £147 TV licence. A few years ago I bought a pair of TP-LINKS and use these to connect our computer to the TV allowing us to choose our own programs via YouTube then we can avoid all the swearing and violence which now rules as modern entertainment.

We watch lots of music videos and recently I noticed the following which we've now watched many times and never tire of it; I hope its of interest;

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply Logan; I'm sure you'll enjoy the video.

I'm a dinosaur; it must be over six years ago I bought my mobile phone new through eBay costing a whole £5; I added £10 credit for calls. I'm a big spender and now I'm on my first top up £10 but with £8 still in credit. I don't even know how to correctly use the thing and I'm not losing any sleep over it. The only time I ever use it is once a month when I visit Rufforth Auto Jumble to check Bron is OK and to say I'm on my way home each call lasting less than a minute; I've sussed out how to call out but I don't know how to accept an incoming call and text messages mean zero to me. Yes I'm definitely a dinosaur and very happy in my own little world. ;)

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

I'm sorry you are experiencing problems playing the video Logan but hopefully if you copy and paste the following onto YouTube then a number of these videos appear; the one I posted is the one added by "kiddysoulgirl99"

Jackie Wilson (Your love keeps lifting me) higher and higher

I'm no computer wiz kid so good luck.

Kind regards, Colin.

@Colin ah but you do know a bit.:)
I don't know how to copy and paste, but i do know how to get onto Utube. At first I couldn't see the video only the sound. But i tried again and it worked. Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth, she was before ginger Rogers. My mom used to watch all the old films. She bought herself a small TV and watched them on a Saturday afternoon. While dad watched his sport downstairs. These iPhones don't come with instructions, hubby put everything on it.

Hi,

Well done Logan and you've proved the old saying "its not what you know but who you know". ;)

Bron and I usually settle down to a movie each night at 8 o'clock; the old B&W movies take some beating. I haven't a clue about iPhone's or indeed many of the modern electronic "must have" gadgets; on my desktop computer copying and pasting is very easy indeed and something I do a lot; I prefer to use email and very seldom use our landline phone. I don't walk around with my mobile welded to my ear either.

This dinnertime Bron and I watched an episode of Robin Hood starring Richard Greene in B&W; I well remember all these old TV series from being a kid. Whirlybirds; Highway Patrol and Sea Hunt are also old series we watch; your mom will possibly remember all these? A couple of mornings ago I was watching a DVD on woodturning; anything is better than this modern rubbish put out as entertainment; Bron told me a new series of "Doc Martin" was being shown so like a fool I sat down to watch it; after fifteen minutes I thought what am I doing sitting here watching this when I can go into the workshop and watch paint dry which is far superior and certainly more interesting.

I'm just an old dinosaur brought up in the old fashioned ways of politeness and courtesy and I'll never change nor do I want to change; as kids we played out until it got dark; all we could afford were things like whip and top and the girls all had skipping ropes and played hopscotch; food was a luxury and legs were used to transport us to school in all weather; schools never closed when it snowed unlike now when an inch of snow grinds the whole country to an halt; outside toilet; tin bath; Peggy tub and posser with mangle and the sheer poverty showed us all the value of money.

A neighbour bought a B&W TV and all the neighbourhood kids would sit around on the floor and in the chairs to watch Bill and Ben and Muffin the Mule type programs with just the BBC on air for a few hours each day; in my early childhood I didn't even understand what electricity was until we had it installed into our cottage; electricity brought us the wireless and we could listen to Flash Gordon or radio luxembourg etc; boy we knew how to live in those long ago days.

When my parents could afford; fish and chips were a real luxury; in the early 20th century a portion of fish and chips with mushy peas cost 6d. I can remember when a Farthing was serious money. Out of interest a Cod can live to 30 years of age.

To mark its 21st birthday in 1952, the Harry Ramsden chain served fish and chips at the original prices, selling a world record 10,000 portions in a single day.

I'm rambling on so I'd better quit before I become a real bore.

Kind regards, Colin.
