Good morning to all and whoever drops by - (Thank you for dropping by! The virtual door is never locked!)

Hope you will sleep better tonight, Logan! I need to find my seeds of confederate rose ie hibiscus mutabilis - thanks to the guy who gave me the name - so that I can seed them. Serious watering in the lean to and especially the tomatoes.

Morning Logan, hope your back eases up for you, do you tend to suffer with it?

Hi there alp, yes I think I'll be fighting you for the watering can/ hosepipe, a bit worrying this lack of water now isn't it.Our whole garden is on the droop:(.

Not sure of our plans for today, I've been suffering from an arthritis flare-up for the last couple of days and all my joints are extremely painful at the moment. Have the grocery shop to do and then we will pop over to see my Dad, don't know as yet if I feel like walking to his place ......I know that I should and that it will get my joints going , but it's an all-round 5 mile hike so will see how I feel after the shop (y)

Later I have a mammoth potting on session to undertake...............my poor Cosmos are first in the neverending queue .

Have a good day :)

@Upsy Daisy I'm dreading the process of watering.:cry: Water bill has just come and requires attention. If I started watering, there will be no end to it. @Verdun kindly gives me a recipe for moisture retentive compost. I will give it a go. I need to find out how many boxes of bonemeal I have first. Horrible thing is that once you start watering, the more you will need to water.

I need to find my hibiscus mutabilis seeds to sow, more petunias and rescue some lone seedlings..:eek:

Have you been taking neproxen, Daisy? It might help. Also, eat some oily fish and add some ginger. I put a lump of ginger in my propagator and it has got a bit of green colour, and my protea has two tiny leaves..

Morning Daisy, sorry about your arthritis. Yes I do suffer with back problems. Used to see a chiropractor, the last time I had problems,I had to see a different one, but made it worse. But it got better by itself eventually.I can't lift anything heavy, if I want any compost from the garage I fill up a washing up bowl. Anything in the garden I have to do a bit at a time. But never mind, it could be worse.:D:D
Have a good day.:D:D

Yes I know , this is our 2nd year of being on a water meter......gets scary!. And as you say once you start ....you find you can't stop!

Yes thanks, I do eat alot of oily fish, but try and steer clear of medicating. For many years I was on prescription drugs which included stomach liners,, but a couple of years ago I decided to come off everything and use diet and exercise to help manage my arthritis..........good days and a few bad ones, but on the whole(y). Eventually I will need a few joints replaced when I start to slow down ,but I will try for as long as I can to delay that day :).

Back problems are a great hinder in day to day life, always making you stop and think ' wonder if I should be doing. this' or worse still you do something without thinking first......and end up paying the price!

I have Osteoporosis in my lower spine and there has been many a time when I have picked up a ' little one' that turned out to be not so little....

Take care.

@Perki, I so look forward to seeing your border. I will have some new irises, but I was too mean, potting them up instead of free ranging them and now they have no flowers. I did buy some from Kelway and about 3 will flower .. Can't wait.

I am very excited as my purple sensation seems to have rewarded me with a lot of flowers here and there. 3 years ago, I had only one and right before the bud was going to open, the stem was snapped!:eek:. This happened twice, so I moved it somewhere else. I also bought some more.. I really love that vibrant colour. I begin to think that I actually might have allium gigantium. I have clusters of them - some 7 flower balls together. They just self seeded like crazy.

I remember that when I was pregnant, some nurses distinctly refused to help me to get up after the scans. I think you really should remember that. Shame, but you've to remember that we are no longer spring flowers! LOL!

From now on, more fish, kipper, salmon, sardine .. That's why I only took one neproxen before. But the man kept saying that I need to take them every day, 3 times a day and so I have done so. Today, I had my rhubarb again. It was quite tarty. Son left it for me in the oven and after a bit of heating, it was yummy. I can carry on eating that .. it is rumoured to help reduce arthritic pain.
