Now that I have caught up with all the gardening programmes, I'm suffering from having withdrawal symptoms already.
Go to YouTube and you'll never be stuck for gardening programs @alp...I love the vids of "Ordinary Folks" on their specific individual plants also the allotment enthusiasts exploits and not RHS trained staff or Horticultural experts....It truly is a goldmine....dont spend all day on there though hahahaha

Yes, @BigC I'm a BIG fan of youtube videos. I even used it to learn quadratic equations and division and then to teach my son. I only got a D in my O Levels Maths:eek::sick:

I have watched all the videos on hellebores. I want to have a go at bulb twining of snowdrops. Only if I could find my snowdrops that is. It was so hot that a bulb in a pot disappeared altogether and this was after I had posted one to somebody else.:cry: Totally gutted. Actually, I couldn't find quite a few. Now with the squash leaves covering the whole area and the courgette leaves as well, I have no idea of the casualties.

It might be a good idea to get rid of the tall tree altogether, @BigC the last thing you want is to have it topped all over your precious handiwork. I have a willow standard (salix bought for £5) and it kept falling down. Now I have placed it somewhere. Shame you live in a place with such inclement weather.

@Logan You're so brilliant and they look so healthy. Amazing nursery head gardener you are!

Not a Chance its my pride n joy..I waited a long time for the price I wanted to pay for one It looked very forlorn in mid winter at the Garden Centre and they let me have it for £40..I remember I didn't have £40 in cash on me at the time so I left a deposit of half and collected next day in my wee van lol

Haha! Then you must house it in a proper place and look out for prevailing wind direction. I never paid attention to the prevailing winds direction until my house smelt like a drug den. Then I realised that the next house I bought, however small, must have windows on all side and not even semi-detached. At this rate, I might be your neighbour or move to Norfolk or Wales.. or Scotland .. I must go out and create the dream of moving to a plot of land and keep chickens rather than buying hormone infested meats..

Will keep the seeds and you sow them earlier in February to get a head start. They germinate like weeds and you will be surprised at the silly money people pay for the plant. I took cuttings and three of them have roots and one flowers. I even cut off the other one with tiny buds as cuttings again. I will upload photo later. Have a nice day, every one.. Love thinking about your wallflowers, @Logan Such an inspiration.. a genuine one, as those of BigC , I can never achieve, only drool all over them... ;)

Oh, no tea finished again .. my elixir ... ahhhhhhh!

Thanks @BigC you could move your tree closer to the house, why isn't it in the ground? Thanks @alp you should get more tea in to store. I don't use all those rolls, get friends to collect for me.
I might just do that @Logan but at the time we were thinking of downsizing so I put it in a tree planter which was 2 thirds the price of the tree :)..as If we moved I wanted to take it with me.....I have moved house before and left many a specimen plant/tree in the ground

Good morning everyone.....hey! Who did that? It's raining here albeit easing now but I didnt order any rain :(
Good idea logan re the toilet rolls. Growing a few wallflowers too from seed but not 200. In 5 colours totalling about 80 plants. I grow them in the veg patch and they make large specimens (60 to 90 cm high and across) come mid October and I then move to groups of 3. I pinch them back at least twice from spring to now to produce bushy plants.:)
A visit soon to finally haggle a carpet/flooring deal....a discount already secured but there is more I'm sure. Will dangle a wad of cash and offer a handshake to do the deal now! ;)

Haha I'm about to make a flat Screen TV wall console from wooden flooring boards (the click type as they are already finished in some exciting colours) I actually bought a pack yesterday so we'll see how this goes...Sadly I am much better with wood than with cement.....I have to report that mould one fell apart on me as I was trying to turn it over...a multitude of things why this happened but I'm almost sure it was the wrong mix....First I bought quick drying concrete, that was no good due to it drying too quickly...and then I went to the other extreme and bought redimix mortar, yes it gave me much more time to work the mixture but its too brittle (although I will leave the larger leaf to cure off a little more and re address this matter next weekend)..Sad in a way as I was looking forward to this moment...On the bright side I wont give up on this project no matter how long it takes and also the piece that broke up does have the lovely veining of the leaf embossed on its surface so thats a big plus, just have to attain the right mortar mix ....aw well life's for learning :(

@BigC why don't you try putting some straw in the mix? It could help keeping it all together, just a thought. But Hubby told me i shouldn't think, it's bad for me.haha

Not far off the the old wattle and straw idea..it could work..you would usually use glass fibres in the mix now days but be being like @alp wanting to do stuff on the cheap hahahaha....good idea that..I might look into it more
