Hi there alp , hope all goes well with your blood test today.

Have you seen above...my 1st quote.......I'm getting there, slowly but surely. Next to conquer is posting pics(n), work in progress!!!

Been busy sowing up a couple of trays for my mum's planter, so hate vine weevil:(.Thought that we will try just summer bedding as getting to water them daily is difficult, more likely it will be just one good soak per wk. If some wilt I'll replant with a backup supply. Will also put in some spring bulbs. Have also sowed a tray for winter with Primroses and Violas, hope this might work better. It's such a shame they don't employ someone who could water plants that grow on graves, I don't mean doing any manual work......just watering...... Mmmm even a volunteer might enjoy the task. If I had one near me I would definitely consider it, infact I've often watered some of my Mum's 'neighbours'-- hate to see unloved graves but I know sometimes it's just not possible maintain then.
Have a good day.

Daisy: It might be a good idea planting drought resistant flowers for you mum to enjoy since it is not easy to keep plants alive - a bit of ivy, something tough and get a bigger pot and sprinkle a bit of Californian poppies seeds and they will come back next year. Now is the best time to do it. Just make sure compost very moist and they will self seed.. And some osteospermum with loads of grit on top.. to stop the evaporation.. Or even calendula which can survive the whole year round in the south.. Trust me on this.. Hehe! My calendulas have flowered already and I don't even want them, but you can beat them for a bit of lovely colour.

Well done for mastering the quote function.. That time of the year, things can happen very fast. Suddenly, the dicentra pops up and covered with flowers, as if coming from nowhere.. Shame is that some plants, like my tulip beauties are NOWHERE to be found.. I think I will do that .. A lot to do.. Have a productive day, but first catch up with my Home from Home ..

Hi alp, yes I have put drought proof ones in her summer planter, the main problem is I don't want anything that's tall and will hide the head stone. The plot is only the size of one paving slab as she was cremated.
Lovely sunshine now..........but also some menacing looking clouds. fingers crossed:)

Daisy: California poppies are very short, and osteospermum barley a foot and they flowered for a long time. Californian poppies are basically desert flowers.

Hi alp , yes thanks for the info. I already grow these in my garden, I find that Osteospermun tend to spread quite wide so it may take over the planter, might try them though..food for thought thanks again.

Have you had a good day?

Today I REALLY sorted out the greenhouse........kept going back to have a look........I really impressed myself :D:D

Planted some Basil and Mint seed today and snipped and planted some cuttings of Ivy Geranium. Will start planting some glad bulbs in pots at two week intervals. That way I can plant my glad area all at the same time and I have a long, long, flowering season. The last of the bulbs get planted directly into the beds and they will usually flower just before the first frost.

Morning everyone,
They are loads of peacocks in the UK and the way they scream can be quite annoying.. You usually see one or two roaming in stately homes.

Don't know the colour yet, I put the scales into moist compost and now there are tons of bulblets.
Okay, I understand their voice can be annoying. At least around them, you don't have to worry about snakes.....

Btw those blooms are absolutely amazing.

Daisy: California poppies come in double and crimped so the choice is wide. I have a terracotta pot pegged to the top of a 4 foot wall and the spot is in the sunshine the whole day and there is now a california plant already growing in it. Of course, I never bother watering it.. You could get some house leek for companion planting and in fact @Vishu1708 may be an expert in drought-resistant plant.

Would love to see your greenhouse in @johnny canoe page about green house.

@Vishu1708 I know what you mean.. Two days ago and Indonesian was swallowed whole by a python and all they saw was his shoes.. How shocking and tragic was that?!

@johnny canoe So well planned out.. There is a corner in my garden where gladiolus still have a claim or a foothold. Those corms were more than 10 years old. I don't even know how they survive.. I was never keen on them, but the flower shows last year I did see some every gorgeous flowers.. Big and different and beautiful.. Make sure you upload ..

I woke up late too.. @Logan Poor Barley .. he doesn't sound too healthy .. Get well, Barley, please!
