Good morning and apparently, tomorrow and now Friday are laundry days. So happy at the prospect.

Days seem to be longer as well. Very nice indeed. Need to cull some wishy washy hellebores. Too many of them.

Not in the best form, but will be prettier once I have found it a better home. Now in a pot.

I have discovered this tiny little blond - Inge Blond. I thought it was missing or dead. What a lovely surprise!

Finger not so bad usable anyway. Moved the compost bin today to its new home after a bit of patching up, started to refill one side which is all the waste from last year that will be ready next year. Had to move a cotoneaster to get the compost bin in its place not were the hardest work.

Offer on from £390K down to £383K. I'm worried that in the depth of solicitors' exchange, this couple will plunge the figure further. To Brentwood, but both properties were 2 bedroom and nearly top of my budget. So sad. On top of that garden 68 feet. We took a measure to find out, with the owner's help.

Good night, everyone!

Bought some seeds from Thompson and Morgan 10 packets for £10. Lots of suppliers are reducing their prices, so might be good to have a look ..

It's a HOT date! Britons are in for a cosy Valentine's day with 60F highs as sun and balmy conditions are set to continue for a fortnight
  • Flow of sub-tropical air is set to make Britain warmer than parts of the Mediterranean over the coming days
  • Temperatures will hit 15C (59F) by Valentine's Day tomorrow, which is more than double seasonal average
  • Mercury is set to soar in most areas of the UK thanks to the arrival of milder air originating from the Azores
  • Conditions this week will be warmer than Athens at 8C (46F), while Madrid is expected to reach 13C (54F)

@Gemma would like this.

Barmy weather - supposedly 15c tomorrow! Whopeeeeeeeeeeeee! Need to go out. The air here is making me falling asleep. All the estate agents are trying to get me to view the houses. Ahhhhhhh! I'm not here!

The whole day I just wanted to sleep. Until I broke the stem of a Snowdrop Wendy's gold and then broken another.

Going to be a fine day. Nearly finished my laundry. Going to see a house on a plot of 0.18 acres of land. Felt harassed by some estate agents. Phoned me 3 times one afternoon and son eventually put her on voice mail.

Went with great expectation to see this bungalow. Owner wasn't in and phoned up estate agent who told me that the owner went to the airport and was stuck in the traffic. Then a lady turned up and I persuaded her to let me see the garden. She worked with the owner. The garden looked much smaller than expected. Any way, I saw a lot of silvery tubes and asked her what they were for. I thought it was for some weed growing! LOL! Turned out that the owner had a burner business. It was on a high up area, but we had to negotiate pass 2 schools and some new builts with no car parking and all the cars lined up the road and that was 10 am in the morning. Imagine the hell descends when every person is back from work.

Then I noticed some boards on the base of the house and asked the lady why. She told us that the house suffered from subsidence and the council felled a huge tree and its roots caused the heave! Oh, dear! This is the first time I have ever witnessed subsidence. No, no, no! Thank heavens as I was wondering how I could manage to conjure up £350 and with money for me to live on. Seen Escape to the Country and one lady and her husband loved bird watching and wildlife and Jules Hudson (@Esther Knapicius 's crush, probably!? Love his complexion!) found them a hexagonal house (like a all round bird hide - Whoa!) and in front of the house a river with Salmon popping up and down at the right season! Imagine that! I so want to go on Escape the country. At the moment, I have a bungalow in mind, but it doesn't excite me. Nothing to fire up my passion!

Loved that show on Netflix "Escape to the Country" saw them all. Nice to see the different county sides. Guess you mentioned my name because my house is in the country. @alp . "The house suffered from subsidence" not sure what that phrase means. Picking the right tree close to any house is a must. A river with Salmon, how nice, can see me there with a pole. We just have a creek out back, yes it babbles. 350 is a lot of money, I think that is close to USA money give or take. So far in my area a decent 3 bedroom with 2 bath can go between 180.00 to 250. depending on location and age, and of course property size. But further closer to the heart of the county, forget it, its nuts with cost.

Mentioned your name because you told me that you thought the houses looked nice in the UK. The house I viewed today suffered from subsidence because of a huge tree at the back of the property. Funny enough, we were discussing about another big tree AT THE FRONT of the property. Basically, the foundation of the house subsided and it would be a liability for insurance and the house seems to be condemned.

You might say £350k is a lot of money. In this country, a lot of wealthy foreigners have been coming here, buying up investment in the name of trust or some sort of tax evading schemes and then they go all over the world, leaving the properties empty and yet because of that, the property prices went through the roof! As we are more or less the immediate suburb of London, the property prices are terrifying. £350K bought you a bungalow with not a single finished room and the gas meter stuck up in one of the room like a sore thumb. But people buy it.

I thought you must have seen that episode with the woman crying off the camera because it was such an ideal house for them. Also, a couple bought a Welsh holding with 6 acres of land with rolling landscape outside as views. Why do I have to settle for a bungalow with no views is beyond me. I'm so useless. Wish I could upstick and move next to Powys Castle!

Another washing day! Washing machine on and it's going to be sunny.

I discovered the amount of fertilisers I have yesterday whilst cleaning out the garage. Only touched the tip - about 6 boxes of bff and 3 container feeds. Hundreds of pots. Will carry on doing that and cull some hellebores.
