I hope to warm ya'll with winter pics but it does chill in the last of January, sometimes even below 10f.

That looks so good. For us, veg growing is more or less over, apart from salad leaves, that is. Below 10F and things still grow?

Incidentally, those gourds sold on ebay? They look too good to be stored!

Things get real slow at 10f if they dont freeze. We have a fig tree that tells us by burning every 15 years or so that we are not actually USDA zone 8a which changes to 7 at 10f.

No Becky trades her gourd buddies for her supply. She is off to a gourd show on Thursday. She was the State of Alabama Gourd Queen in 2010 or so, and has been part of the Alabama Gourd Society ever since. Here is the gourd tiara they gave her, and a cat named Breeny that is not impressed.

Gourd Queen! That's some recognition! Congratulations for the accolade!

I think you could sell them as bird nests or just decorative arts on local papers or ebay. I sold my demijohns via gumtree and rather than them taking up room, I've got £10 and the man got 4 demijohns for his spring water. And he was off with his wife and kids to have vegan pizzas.. Very interesting and admirable style of living!

That is State Gourd Queen and oh-la-la! Kinda funny really but those hobbiests love to do shows. Often in conjunction with other art specific groups and even musical bands and sometimes car shows. I stay out of it. I lost the entire muffler system out of my Chevy Truck when my Becky high centered the vehicle on a large boulder whilst dressed in a white rabbit costume one Easter. I have been traumatized you might say, in odd ways that are really hard to describe unless you were there. That rabbit suit cost me 300, and the muffler 750. Thats a lot of eggs. I was hoping to keep the suit but it got a little scruffy and Becky fiqured out large rabbits scared hell out of little kids so she gave it to a charity.

@DirtMechanic Oh, dear! That's dear! But you now have some very fond memories and a lot of pride. Hope your gourds bring you a lot of eggs, especially when they can be sold as bird nests.

Good morning to al very quiet and dark 6.24am. Just turned the dishwasher on and am now preparing for another two ponds in the sinks. :banghead::inpain:

Going to have the window in the lean to replaced today. Now I will remove the cardboard in the lean-to to reveal a nice worktop. Didn't want to do it in summer as the sun will bleach the top. Going to the tip and just read the Brexit is stalled. By the look of it, it will never happen. EU needs our dough and the British politicians believe in human beings too much!

Planted out 2 salvias, one rudbeckia and one anemone outside the front border. Hopefully they will add some colours to the front. Will buy some 50p asters to add a bit of seasonal colours.

Had a very busy day and went freegling. I thought I would get two integrated bins and in the end the bins comes with the side panels. :banghead::eek:

It was so heavy that son had to stop the car and wedge the whole unit in. I only want them to hold my perlite and vermiculite! and this unit is about 600mm! Oh, dear!

Some of the freegled stuff can be quite hilarious. Friend went to pick up a sprinkler system which turned out to be the £1 one from poundshop! LOL! What an anti-climax.

I have the feeling that unless the frost is severe, I will have these flowers for a very long, long time. Sorry groundhog days for some, but they are still perfect

Not sure, it just updates automatically.....but things seem to be fine today. It seems to happen intermittently but usually more so at weekends.

Good morning to all: Today estate agent B**** E is coming, again! I will have a sign outside the house as I just want to get out of here quick. But my numerous plants might die if I can find a house in good time. So very worrying. Not to mention the amount of digging and digging and potting and repotting! Did a lot yesterday.

With all that work, I rewarded myself with a gellateri almond ice cream every day:LOL:! This is getting dangerous!

There is an abscess in my face and I have been swishing salty water every 3 or 4 hours. It has worked a bit. Feel like sending a pin to the spot and end the suffering, releasing and getting rid of the bacteria!
