I took a propane torch to the garden today. It was very satisfying burning seedheads off weeds. I hope it is easier than regular weeding. It finally is dropping below 90f during the day so here we grow again!

LOL! Yes, here we grow again! I am using Resolva! I am not very organic. But I use it once in 3 or 4 months. The weeds germinated in the gaps of the paving slabs. .

Upsy Might be a good idea to take a pair of scissors to cut off all the flowers first and then spray on the small ones in gaps and the biggest clumps. I used to have exactly the same. Fortunately, they bordered on the lawn, not concrete ground, so I just removed them. I have planted something new straight away and the new plants took, so it's more or less OK! Mine was never as spectacular as yours though!

Trouble is when the seedheads land in the gap of hot bricks, they just grow. A knife and a Resolva are my weapons.

See, now I have only got one.

I used to have masses of them.

Now I have headache from chamomiles. See the little flowers. Some have flown away as tiny seeds and landed in between the gaps of the slab paving in the front.

See the osmanthus being covered by the Leucanthemum? Two tiny osmanthus all covered by Leucanthemum.

Evening everyone!

@alp ,there are no flowers, chopped them all off about 6 weeks ago ( the first pic was taken back in July ). Have now weeded one border and got rid of the two huge clumps.

I forgot to post the above and it was before I read your message. I remember mine has tons with that kind of leaves. It's a shame that they are near the concrete and these critters must have legs. I think if you weed them and use some good ground cover plant, this would stop them coming back. I have the feeling that yours must be a potent one.

The only consolation is that the weather has been glorious. I cleaned out half of the bunker and half of the front. Do use some Resolva as it will stop them at the roots when they are inside the crevices inside the pavings. I scraped mine half a year ago and now they are no longer everywhere. I planted tons on where they were. But mine is a minor devil, probably!

They won't be allowed to come back @alp . No way!!!(y)

LOL! Shut the gate! Stop the air flow, especially the nasty prevailing winds! Poor thing! But those statueque flowers were so pretty. As soon as I saw the chamomiles seeded in between the paving slabs, I tried to uproot it and I nearly fell on my bum. So I cut the roots with my secateur and sprayed into them. Tomorrow I will try again. They do pose such a problem at the back as it is much cooler. Just when I want to be nice and grow something wholesome ..

Much better Upsy i take it you didn't get a flamethrower ;)

Cold again this morning but no frost, had my bob hat and jumper on first thing in the morning but soon warms up with the sun out Tshirt weather.

Finally got round to sowing the grass seed for the new back lawn :) down later than I hoped but got there eventually, best germinate now.

Perki Where did you get your grass seeds please? I think I need another helping. Just now saw Charlie in Garden Rescue sow seeds. Wish I had researched a bit before committing.

Yes, it's cold and I nearly wanted to turn on the radiatory, but need to save hard.

Looks neat the lawn, Perki! I reckon the grass seeds will grow very quickly your way as there is so much moisture in the air. I have 4 asters and only one comes up good. The other 3 are struggling. Can't wait as I didn't see any flowers when I bought them.

It a bit expensive the seed I've got alp its barenburg - Medal, it cost me £130 on offer but it is a 20kg bag, I don't think you'll be interested in it. Look on ebay you want a grass seed high in fescue's because one its has a narrow leaf and looks good and most importantly for you is that they are for more drought tolerant that other variety's, chewing fescue or slender fescue are the better fescue grass but unimportant in just a normal lawn.
