Very intermittent rain...it's stopped now. Did actually dampened the patio slabs though!(y)View attachment 44937

That's good! The moisture in the air cushions a dry blow to the plants. I wish I had it here. All I have had was hot air at about 6am which woke me up.

Love your garden! Say well done to your hubs!

:ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

They've got vacant plots behind us, did consider it at one point. But decided against it in the end!

How far away are your allotments?

10 - 15 minutes walk for me. Bit worried where to put plants if the house is sold. And I have hundreds of them. Off now. I can really chat with you all day! But need to get out of here, literally!:cry:

Afternoon @Perki and @Zenj , rain has cleared but very windy still.We seem to get double the wind around here compared to near neighbours, think it's due to the hills! They seem to create a channel for any wind to whip along....and our garden is right in the middle!!

Afternoon very windy and just started lashing it down. How do you put the your weather forecast on @alp ?

Will tell you later as we need to go out.

It was very, very, very windy here. It's like hearing the rustles of leaves by the seaside. One of my toms greenhouse collapse and the Salvia Amistad minus the centre was battered and swayed violently. I feel so sorry for people near in the NE, like Zenj and NW like Perki .. Must be hellish! I live in East London where it is so built up. Must go out now.

2nd Dahlia is Art Nouveau, @MaryMary's favorite!

:love::love: :joyful::joyful: :love::love:

These are both Art Nouveau. Shame you live in US. Too far for me to send seeds or plants.

:D Not too far to send seeds!! (y). Just have to pack them so they don't get crushed. Little bit of bubble wrap, or some crumpled newspaper for padding ought to do the trick!! (Er, maybe I should say, "work a treat!" ;))

Still blowing a hoolie out there,

:ROFLMAO: :LOL: :ROFLMAO: I can hear your accent!

This year, I failed to collect the seeds for the one bloom with frilly edged - oriental poppies. Those I thought would be frilly edged ones turned out to be the ordinary ones. Also, those I bought from shop was supposed to be Mrs Perry but turned out to be the boring oriental poppies. Very demoralising. Wait for 9 months and out came another oriental poppy! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Today, I have weeded nearly the whole of the first dwarf raised bed. I have grouped the Salvia Greggii Ultra Violet together about 2 plants and buried some stems to encourage them to root. I have done the same to Salvia Ulignosa - two to three plants. Take cuttings of white lavender. Some pink roses. Of course, I ended up with tons of cuttings again. Wonder if the weather has calmed down in NE or NW? Quite worrying although I don't live there. Looking at the way the leaves bash one another showed how awfully strong the gale force winds could be!

I also used some woodchips to suppress weeds from growing. Or I might end up with a new family of weeds. With the warmth of the bed, weeds just spring up like no tomorrow!

My knee caps seem to tell me winter is here!
