Wedding? What wedding?

Good morning to all. It's a bit nippy outside. Opened the tap of the water butt to let water go out the spot where I planted more bamboos. I hope it shoots up fast to hide neighbour's hole on the water which has made me sneeze quite a few times. Yesterday, killed nearly 100 slugs and snials round my pots and the lily stem was snapped right at the root!:cry:

So the first 3 photos are Salvias. Need to start another fabric planter to put my fennels in. I hope they don't bolt. But it's so cold outside at night. I feel sorry for my plants. Things are still slow in the garden. Will have to remove another lots of oriental poppies.

@marlingardener If you can view BBC, see if you can catch up with Iplayer and watch the The Beechgrove Garden. Think it will be on 20 May i.e. Tomorrow

The Beechgrove garden is showcasing a couple's bio intensive farming. The man uses a polytunnel (in Scotland) and he generates a lot of heat using chicken manure to heat his germinating seeds and after that, he emptied them into the ground. Don't think you need the heat unless it's in winter. But it is quite informative. I think you might be able to watch it, and also gardeners' world

There really does appear to be some method behind the madness of my Grandad's old ways....

"Ash and cinders

A barrier of ash and cinders helps keep slugs at bay. The cinders are rough to cross, and the powdery ash also acts as a desiccant".

I am now going to put into practice a time honoured family tradition...Thank you Grandad...wherever you are (y)

Trouble is I have already used most of mine to line the bottom of the fabric planter and that has kept my lettuce looking unscathed.

Yes, at least you don't get quoted £250 for excess or £400 for son!:cry: After that, I got whacked £70 for breakdown. Just be careful with your motorbike. Petrol price is high thanks to some idiots and some unconscionable who rob whilst Rome burns!

Got a peep at someone's wedding. That dress is appalling boring. It's a sin to pay so much for such a bland article, reputedly worth £150,000. There must be something hidden which we can't see! £1,500 would be too much!

Finally got one estate agent to give us an evaluation on Tuesday! One stop forward.

1% charge. Not cheap. But will get some more. Won't pay upfront and have to read the small print as some say they can get commission even if you don't sell the house via them. Funny thing is that the weather has disorientated me. I kept thinking that it is summer!
