I myself don't like fiction much. I used to want to learn creating graphics following magazines. But for some reason, I could never replicate them. In the end, I gave up.. I prefer making something rather than reading fiction or reading Bible. I do like to read real stories, especially gruesome murders .. I thumbed through one book on murder twice. Some of them are so horrible that I count my blessings that I don't have to live through them and yet they shed light on how depraved human beings can be.. For the same reason, I don't like to watch horror movies such as Jaws ..

I am reading classic fiction. So far this year I have read all of the Jules Verne collection, G.K. Chesterton series, Bram Stoker's Dracula (much scarier than any movie) and am now working throuh H.G. Wells. Lots of fun.

I too like anything Agatha. Every so often I'll reread old mysteries like the Alfred Hitchcock short story collections and an old mystery called Thr Red House mystery by Milne. Yes, the Winnie the Pooh author!

Hi,

I am reading classic fiction. So far this year I have read all of the Jules Verne collection, G.K. Chesterton series, Bram Stoker's Dracula (much scarier than any movie) and am now working throuh H.G. Wells. Lots of fun.

I too like anything Agatha. Every so often I'll reread old mysteries like the Alfred Hitchcock short story collections and an old mystery called Thr Red House mystery by Milne. Yes, the Winnie the Pooh author!

With you mentioning Winnie the Pooh CanadianLori it brought back memories of about three years ago; Bron and I like to visit The Lake District (UK) and for many years we've passed the turnoff to the home of not Winnie the Pooh but of Beatrix Potter so we decided to explore; Bron loves little furry critters so what a delight it was for her as we visited the attraction; in the attraction we paid and waited until we were shown into the small cinema where we watched the story of Beatrix Potter; it was most pleasant sitting in this cinema where adults outnumbered the kids; just one of those little trips which are remembered for life; I too enjoyed it. :)

It was mentioned on TV a short while ago that book sales here in the UK had risen by 7% over the last year which is surprising considering all the electronic kit now in use. Our friend Tony is an author but his books cover vintage radio restorations and our best friends son has written many books on management he travelling the world giving lectures. My small claim to fame is in having over ten articles published in The British Vintage Wireless Society "Bulletin" and I was honoured with best restoration in 2009 which is surprising considering I know so little about the subject.

One of my articles is Page 43. This is rather a specialist subject these days due to few now taking up vintage wireless restoration whereas in its peak many guys constructed their own wireless sets as an interesting hobby. How times have changed?

Kind regards, Colin.

Update: let me preface my recommendation by saying that I do not like Stephen King’s books even though I have read almost every one of them. I also don’t like time travel books.

Having said that I am going to recommend the book “11-23-63” by King. It is one of the most imaginative and interesting books I ever read. This is one of the few books I have read that I truly didn’t want it to end.
