Okay.

Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith. Grace be with you all.

You are taking it completely out of text. The full scripture is regarding the church, Paul telling Timothy to not let false chatter come into the church that can replace the real truth that the church teaches. And Paul also tells Timothy to turn away from being involved with any false chatter that is opposite of the truth because it can lead to turning away from the truth and faith.

He is referring to the teachings of Christ, not some random dudes lemon tree dilemma on a garden forum. I don't think trying to help out a fellow gardner is "godless chatter".
You are quite right , but ...

You mean doing God's work Oliver? Yes, and this thread has been dedicated to finding out how to assist "some dude's" lemon tree as Pepper crudely put it.
The photo below is the Eureka lemon that most Perth people have in their house yards. The Eureka is the best of all lemons, but it likes to be planted out.
It grows to five metres in height and one needs a step ladder to pick the fruit.
Back before we sought help from the Bible, you might remember that it was the first suggestion I made.
I would repeat that now.

Citrus, or “goodly trees” are referred to in Leviticus 23:40 as one of four species Jews should use during Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. The kind of citrus that grew at the time was the citron, one of five citrus trees from which the common orange and even the Australian Eureka lemons of today have evolved.

If gods work is having a soapbox preacher cherry-pick sentences out of the bible and use them out of context you are doing a great job. But I am not sure how me saying "some dude's" lemon tree is crudely put? Perhaps I should have said it more gracefully as you did when refering to the OP:

It is essential that the cat guy Moshe Pupkin must be convinced to get the help his lemon tree needs.

Actually I am an ungodly atheist, not that that's here or there. Now, just stop bickering, though I found this interesting "The kind of citrus that grew at the time was the citron, one of five citrus trees from which the common orange and even the Australian Eureka lemons of today have evolved.", and wondered about the other four and what they were all like?

Can you get angry again Pepper. You take on a different personality when you get like that.
As for myself, I have to suck a lemon to achieve the same thing.

I am not sure if that was a question asking me if I can get angry again or a comment? Also not sure why you added it to my comment when you quoted me? Strange.

However I assure you it wasn't and isn't anger. But your obsession with lemons is interesting lol. Possibly a pinch of dry humor and a dash of sarcasm, but not anger.

The thread is not about the welfare of plums, figs or even pomegranates, it is about lemons.
I think that you must remember that.
But if it was about the interesting Biblical era fruit the pomegranate, this is of interest to all Biblical theologians following this thread.

Pomegranate seeds are said to number 613—one for each of the Bible's 613 commandments. The pomegranate was revered for the beauty of its shrub, flowers, and fruit—symbolising sanctity, fertility, and abundance. The Song of Solomon compares the cheeks of a bride behind her veil to the two halves of a pomegranate.

Meanwhile in Australia today, the pomegranate is not revered. It is pithy, difficult to eat and is not commercially viable.
You might say the same about lemons until you cook and serve your fish.

Thank you for the insight, I will do my best to remember!

That myth of 613 seeds has been tested around the world and busted a million times over lol.

Or lemonade, lemon tarts, lemon pie, lemon daicuiris.. just don't get lemons confused with lemmings.

Now, what was this thread about again? I got off topic. Oh, I remember now...

@Old fruit I want to apologize. Socializing online has been something my generation grew up with so IRL (in real life) and online are like two different world I have always known. That said I've no idea what generation you are. Online and IRL are very different and I've seen my share of online trolls. So my guard is always up when someone online is a little more unique. Anyway it's my fault for assuming and not knowing. To be honest I thought you were a online troll. But it's not nice for me to judge without really knowing someone. It just threw me off when you seemed upset that myself and other forum members were trying to help the op with the concerned question he/she asked and you kind of refered to it as ungodly chatter with that scripture you posted. Anyway, I am sorry. It's never my intention to be mean and sometimes I assume when I don't know.

Acceptance of differing opinions

I am not used to people being nice on chat forums. This passage from the Bible will convey my appreciation.

Romans 14
Paul urges the Christians in not to look for opportunities to be right, but to look for opportunities to accept each other in our differing opinions.

(Romans 14:1)
"As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions".

Maybe if you engage in the conversations more and make it less about what you want to say, for instance Christianity. I am a Christian so I get it, but in a world of countless different religions and also people who have no religious beliefs it's good to respect their choices in life. Jesus never forced people to listen to him or follow him during his time on earth and it's mentioned several times in scripture to seek those who listen and not spend time teaching deaf ears. That's not to say be unkind to them but let them see your "fruit" without forcing them, let it be their choice to ask or not ask. It actually does more harm then good force feeding scripture and religion down people's throats that want no part of it. And I say that with kindness not contempt. We live in a world of many different beliefs and ways of life, if you want people to be nice you need to respect those differences and accept people for who they are regardless if you agree or not on some views. And there will always be online trolls, doing their best to suck the happiness out of everyone they can but again, that's the world we live in.

As for that troll pic, I recognize it from the Netflix movie troll. In my opinion the digital art to it was good but the storyline sucked lol, I honestly feel asleep during it and had to watch it a second time lol. But I am very particular about movies and harsh with ratings that don't fit my expectations. I'm sure some people enjoyed it.

Well I am not going to philosophically go overboard and take on other religions just because they exist.
I am a Christian and I have to say that only one passage from the Bible matters and that is found in John 14:6

'No one comes to the Father except through me".

If anyone doesn't agree with that they can easily stop looking at this forum topic.

I was only offering advice because you said you never find kindness online. I would say you have been shown a lot of kindness on this forum, any other forum I have been on if you hijacked someone's thread, especially with touchy subjects like religion it would be removed by mods and if you repeated doing it you would likely get banned from the forum. There is a big difference between getting off topic for a couple posts and completely railroading a thread.

With that said it's not my concern what you post about or where. I was just being friendly and giving some advice. I'll leave you to it and part ways from our conversation now. :)

What does helping with a sick Lemmon Tree have to do with the word of God my Father can fix this but He also wants humans to use their mind and take care of it.

'No one comes to the Father except through me".

It's an all-powerful sentence, isn't it? It makes irrelevant anything uttered in human history, be it presidents, Prime ministers, despots or tyrants.

Quote: 'any other forum I have been on if you hijacked someone's thread, especially with touchy subjects like religion it would be removed by mods and if you repeated doing it you would likely get banned from the forum'. Pepper

It got rid of you Pepper. Let's see if it gets rid of me?
