I wonder if they perk you up the way coffee does too! I did not know that Queen Anne's Lace was in the carrot family. I am allergic to the pollen. I'm not sure what pollen I'm not allergic to in this world, but I know this flower hates my nose. I remember it growing just crazy on our hillside after they finished rebuilding the bridge over the highway and transplanted new dirt to make our driveway wider and less dangerous. My grandmother was fit to be tied because she favored another weed she called "crown vench" because she liked the fern like leaves and purple flowers, and she wanted it to overtake the hillside instead. It was the battle of the weeds.I don't know if the roots taste as carrots or not (I guess something similar), but dried out and ground, they're used as coffee substitute.
