Lovely shots Johnny! I'm guessing Woodpeckers on the first three but what is the other bird please?

We've still some colour in our garden... Mostly green!

Though the two acer palmatums are changing to their "firey red" colour... until the leaves drop off.

I've filled the green bin with fallen leaves..again.

Quite a few yellowed ones from the rhodos, but they're looking healthy with lots of of green leaves and buds.

But there's a lot more leaves to come down, particularly from next door's trees and our wisterias

The six colour co-ordinated hebes in the troughs in front of the teahouse are still producing some blooms.

It's nearly time for our "lollypop acer" in the front garden to get its annual haircut. I take about a foot off all round, more or less in some places as not all the branches grow at the same rate.
Due to pruning, it's only grown this height from about eight feet thirty years ago. I keep it only as tall as the eaves. It looks a lot smaller from this angle.
I've some very long extending pruners so no ladders are necessary.

This is plenty big enough when it's in leaf.
