Making some great progress here at the end of the month. It hit 110 in Phoenix this week so any progress is good progress.

First ground cherry!

I have about 15 watermelons all about the size of a full grown cherry tomato

I know actual tomatoes aren’t that impressive, but I grew this plant from the seeds of a tomato my mom ate the last time I saw her in December 2018, and I got my first fruit this week. This was the most gratifying thing ever.

First zucchini harvest. My wife made the best tasting zucchini chips in our air fryer.

And lastly, had a little visitor today in the pumpkin patch

Florida's native version of the Pink Rain Lily grows throughout my yard, despite it being an endangered plant in Florida. It's not endangered because it's a fragile species that is difficult to grow nor is it prone to decimation from pests (based on my observations).

Rather, it just needs some undisturbed ground to grow on, meaning no mowing. The simple act of mowing prevents this plant from reseeding itself. All these Rain Lilies in my yard are 100% wild; I didn't buy a single one.

These Rain lilies get their name, because the flowers tend pop-up and bloom directly after a good rain fall.
