I've been listening to some Lebanese singers lately a lot :) I love Rola Saad and Nancy Ajram, Miriam Faris is also very good. I love them! They're also an inspiration when it comes to beauty and style :) I love the way they look! Sometimes I still listen to oldies :) Music from the 90's rocks... everything from that decade rocks. I just can't get into today's music.... must be getting old.

I've been listening to the album from Jessie Ware called Tough Love - it's pretty good. I suppose I'd describe it as easy listening, and she's got a beautiful voice :)

This topic comes up frequently on many boards.

I've always said that I will listen to anything that has a good tune and is played or sung well.

It doesn't matter how old it is. That covers a lot of ground.

I love this. from 81 years ago, (good song, Hoagy Carmichael, great singer, Bea Wain)

If I were to name favourite genres.

Big band jazz.
Fifties & sixties modern jazz.
Classic "standards"
Vintage pop.
Motown & R&B.
Some C&W

I can't say that much of the contemporay music I hear these days is particularly appealing, there are exceptions but only a few.

I've various ways of listening to what I like.

From vintage vinyl jukeboxes, in our summerhouse at the bottom of the garden. (No room in our front room and my wife wouildn't want them in the lounge)

Vintage audio equipment

To a mixture of old and new. Three different genres I like.

I've a USB stick in the side of the TV with about 3000 mp3s on it, that I can play through my vintage hifi, but rarely do as "it's not the same."

I play tenor sax, (badly).

and this reasonably well.
Just stuff I like.

I've a couple of hundred recordings I've shared on a "leccy" piano enthusiasts' message board.

I'll leave you with something seasonal I recorded, using a few substituted jazz chords.
(my Yamaha Tyros 5 can " sing" and "play" the tenor sax far better than can I).

I Love Music and like to listen to all kinds, willing to give all sorts a chance to work it's magic because I do find it magical. Played the new one by Russell Watson called 20, this morning and that ticked all the boxes.Just now I saw this on You tube and thought that would be good to share in our present world...
