Annoyed with YouTube as I can't watch any videos.
I've had a channel for sixteen years, featuring hobby interests. Gardening, Japanese koi, vintage audio, vinyl jukeboxes, music, hedgehogs.
Viewers with adblockers that prevent the adverts on any site, are now excluded from watching any videos including their own.
They can watch them without adverts, if they are willing to pay
That's not unreasonable. Considering how much I watch stuff on YouTube which isn't that much, £1 a week would seem reasonable.
But £12.99 a month?
That's just being greedy.
No thank you!
'bye YouTube!
For anyone who uses an adblocker, this is what will happen.
You'll eventually get this pop-up when you go on YouTube
Ad blockers violate YouTube's Terms of Service
- It looks like you may be using an ad blocker. Video playback is blocked unless YouTube is allowlisted or the ad blocker is disabled.
- Ads allow YouTube to be used by billions worldwide.
- You can go ad-free with YouTube Premium, and creators can still get paid from your subscription.
- Try YouTube Premium
For a while there will be an "X" at the top right corner of the pop-up. You can click on this and the pop-up will disappear and you can watch your video. The pop-up will appear again next time you go on Youtube. So you can repeat the process. But after a few more times the pop-up will tell you can only view six more videos, so you can click on the "X" again, but there will be a "count down" every time you go on until you just get the pop-up and the X will have disappeared.
You won't be able to watch any YouTube videos on here.
It's happening World wide.
