Watching the documentary I recorded on Frank Sinatra.
There's never been anyone to equal him.

I try to play my leccy piano, the way he sang. If you know what I mean.

These came up on a thread on a music board.
I've liked the recording since my teens, an aunt had it on a 78.

I think Helen was a better singer than Bob Eberly

This tune came into my head today.

My mother had it on a 78rpm record, but it was frequently on the radio when I was in primary school.
This was from 1945, but it was first recorded by Ruth Etting and many others in 1929.

I think I've too many hobbies and not enough time to give them the attention they deserve. One of them is my Yamaha Tyros 5 leccy piano. My absence from a dedicated Yamaha keyboard player's message board has been noticed, as I hadn't uploaded anything I'd played or recorded for a few weeks.
So I "banged this out" this morning.

A copy of my post.

This was a minor hit for Jimmy Helms in the UK in 1973. It got to Number 8.

It's a bit of nostalgia for me, as my wife and I saw him sing this at a nightclub in Manchester at the time.
It's never been successfully covered since, as the vocal range required is just over two octaves. Beyond the abilities of many contemporary singers.
I think it works well as an orchestral performance at a slightly lower tempo.

"I got the neighbourhood kids in again, to do backing vocals."
