Watched my recording of the Rod Stewart's "It Had to Be You Concert" shown on Sky Arts the other night.
He sang many of the songs from his "American Songbook" CD series. This is from 2002.
I've always liked "standards" and to be honest there's singers who could make a better job of it. But at least it brought these great old songs to a younger audience. It was noticeable that the camera occasionally focused on young people who obviously knew the words.
Rod has always been associated with tall leggy blondes. This was no exception. This one was the tenor sax player Katja Rieckermann (born 1966)
She's appeared at many of his concerts from 2001 to 2015. There are better sax players, but don't look as good as she.
