I am going to clean off all the patio furniture in my garden area so I have a clean space to sit and watch things grow. At the end of the moth when I have extra money I am going to buy some herb starters.
Sounds like a good idea Rosyrain. Love your name. Conjures up a lovely image.(y) I have spend a lot of time on my verandah watching my garden grow...with silver bells and cockle shells etc!!! I love watching the birds and bees and butterflies but it is winter here so not quite so comfy. We are planning to add on to the roof so it so it will be a it more usable in the cooler weather and the rain. The roof is going to angle upwards. My sons idea and it took me a while to be convinced but now 'm looking forward to it. In Grand Design terms it will be quite bespoke!!!! I hope.:)

Kalanchoe is a fascinating plant. I've just broken bits off a put them in pots. Would you suggest a more formal approach as I really like it and would like To propagate it more successfully. winter here though so it's probably not the right time.

Well, you see when the main plant starts to die? That is the right time to propagate, at least where I lived. I just cut a strong enough chunk, let it dry for one day in a freshv place with enough ventilation and far from sunlight. Then place it in a starter pot, it should be fine. I take several cuttings from the mother plant and all of them make it most of the time.

Winter so I'm making the most of any good weather. We've just had a week of no rain so I've been out in the garden quite a bit. Managed 4 hours straight Sunday and Monday which was great but you can't see where I've been. On second thoughts you can see where I've been in the following pic, cut so much back it looks so bare. Hopefully I'll be glad when Spring comes.

You can just make out the magnolia tree. I'm attempting to make it into a standard. It's obviously going to take time for it to stand alone but I hope it works. So far so good I think.
My main projects for June are weeding and moving plants. I have a friend who moved her plants so often her neighbor said they shuddered when they heard her coming!!!!
