After a hard day of work and bad traffic I love to walk around the entire mini-orchard. Do it everyday in the spring, summer and fall. I get to graze whatever veggie or fruit is in season. Look over the progress but most importantly is to find problems early on. The start of insect damage, broken branches, diseases, tying up new growth, micronutrients deficiencies and/or whatever I find.
In the winter I just walk the perimeter to make sure the deer netting wasnt taken down by any branches.
Winter is also fun as I plan my new extension by going out to measure and come up with ideas. Making a drawing and then building it in the spring.
