I kind of guessed that the swamp milkweed might be the best bet for my environment. I'm also looking at Sandhill milkweed, Butterfly weed and Common milkweed and hoping one or more of these varieties will take as permanent additions. Time will tell.I wish swamp milkweed would have lasted in my garden. I'd get a year or two out of it and then it'd die off. Milkweed in general seems to hate my yard.
That prairie smoke plant is an interesting one @JBtheExplorer . I ordered a few seeds...maybe it will grow in the piney woods of East Texas in addition to the prairie.
