Wild Columbine is getting bigger. Hoping the rabbits go easy on it this year.

A wren has been busy collecting material in my garden for the nest it's building.

I don't photograph these gardens often, so I thought I'd share. I added them last year and they're still in the process of maturing. The first is a shade garden along the north side of my garage. It has a few species of ferns, Wild Geranium, Eastern Red Columbine, and a Bleeding Heart specie. I think it was Dicentra 'Luxuriant'. I bought it for my grandma last summer and decided to divide a small portion for myself. I'm hoping to have quite a few Eastern Red Columbines in the future along here for the hummingbirds. Right now I've got four growing. One may bloom this year.

The second garden is right around the fence. I'm not entirely sure what I want this garden to be just yet. I planted some species last year including Wild Bergamot, Blue Giant Hyssop, Smooth Oxeye, and Giant Blue Lobelia.

Hi,

Blackie's been here over the last four days putting plenty of rain down whilst today and tomorrow are forecast more rain so everything's normal.

I've just wandered up the mountain but remembered to take the camera along so a few up to date pictures; having done a huge amount of work clearing hedges; digging up many stumps; hand digging then rotavating I was unsure what to do with the newly prepared patch of garden. Bron and I like flowers so we settled on creating a small wild flower meadow; the meadow flower seeds were bought and scattered and WOW it's looking like "The day of the triffids" I'm sure once they all bloom it's going to look wonderful.

Kind regards, Colin.

WOW; this was bare soil a few weeks ago now its turning into a meadow at very little cost other than hard graft.

Our bungalow is down there somewhere?

It sure is steep but looks beautiful from our kitchen window; we have to come right up the garden to see this display at the top. The stakes are holding the sky rocket conifers and across the garden I've planted conifer; potentilla; conifer etc. For years I've only worked in the garden in order to prevent it becoming a jungle but over the last two years I've done a lot of work in our gardens now the work on our bungalow is finally completed.

I'm glad the rabbits and deer have mostly left my plants alone so far, although I saw a new batch of bunnies running around, so it may not last.

Extremely happy with how many Eastern Red Columbines are blooming this year. I'm hoping to collect a ton of seed that I can scatter in the tree line along my driveway this winter.

Sand Coreopsis. I love this plant. It self-seeds well, without being too aggressive in my garden. Always a surprise when I see it pop up. The only problem is that the rabbits like it too. Usually don't get to see it bloom very long before they chomp it all down.
